  1. Decades later and KMFDM still churns out great songs
  2. That's fine tbh, folks will have to get used to that going forward if the Canucks do remain a playoff team going forward The cost of individual and team success is players getting paid, nobody can keep everyone
  3. Credit Thompson, the way Dallas played tonight it shouldn't have been close
  4. Eh, I like Dallas better and it'd be satisfying to see Vegas go out early after all the LTIR shenanigans We have ourselves a series
  5. Agreed, hard to see any team beating Vegas four straight now thay they're healthy
  6. Not at all This is what happens when you match Toronto up against Boston
  7. I think he could be a cap casualty, and I'm fine with that tbh. I like what Zadorov but I'm not interested in giving him 4.5M+ for 5+ years, I'd offer him a 4 year deal max. Soucy and Hughes are back as LD next next season and Soucy costs less. Canucks already need more punch in their top six and will be looking to probably keep Joshua. I'm not sure there's enough cap to keep everyone, even with Myers and Cole maybe not coming back. Pettersson's deal is kicking in, keep Joshua would necessitate a pretty solid raise. We probably need at least another top six player to with Pettersson, Miller, Boeser, and Hoglander. Suter shouldn't in the top six, Mikheyev's a middle six tweener at best. We probably don't keep Lindholm, I'd throw his money into the top six. Bluegar may be gone too, he'll need to be replaced with an NHL level body at least, I'd assume Suter slots into his spot if he walks. Myers is fine as an RD stopgap, one could probably have him on a 1-2 year deal to bridge between now and Willander stepping in. A short-term RD is what the Canucks should be looking for imo, whether that's Myers or someone else. If he's willing to take 4 years or less I'd be open to allocating some of the money to him, but Hronek's raise is also going to eat into what we actually have to give and he's likely a bigger priority for management than Zadorov.
  8. Championships are team accomplishments, which isn't to take away from Foote's having been an excellent player. Gonchar? No argument, he's held a coaching role since 2015 and his coaching resume includes cup wins with the Penguins. Foote? As a coach he's done less than Malhotra.
  9. Stars looking pretty great thus far, Vegas is just hanging on
  10. We're not discussing what they did as players Foote spent six years as a defensive coach at the NHL level, this is his first assistant coach gig Burrows has three years as an assistant, Malhotra has a year of being a development coach and seven years as an assistant between Vancouver and Toronto You could maybe argue he's done more than Burrows but that depends on which coaching position you value more, he hasn't done more than Manny though
  11. He's contributed to the Leafs being disappointed in the first round at least a few times now and I thank him for his service
  12. Like him or not, Marchand is a playoff performer Tonight's game puts him up to 56 goals and 80 assists for 136 points in 150 games
  13. Gonchar I get, he's been an assistant longer and contributed to the Pens winning back to back cups Foote on the other hand, he's been a defensive coach at the NHL level and an head coach at the WHL level prior to this gig, I'm more impressed by Manny and Burr
  14. Eh, he's a good coach, even as a player he was very much a student of the game This is a bit older but it still rings true https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/manny-malhotra-became-one-nhls-promising-young-coaches/
  15. That's not really a step up, Manny's already an assistant I like Burr, I like Manny, but I'm also fine with not following the Oilers model of filling the ranks with a bunch of former Canucks, we've already got a few in the twins, Higgins, and Johnson
  16. Shanahan should be, he's been on the job since April 11th, 2014 and despite a bunch of regular season success it's amounted to a single second round win He's had ten years of Shanaplan
  17. He's got plenty of money though, didn't he leave Vancouver for a larger opportunity in Toronto in the first place?
  18. He'll probably end up being a head coach at some point, that's probably what it'd take to get him out of Toronto
