  1. Tough blow, but that's hockey. Most teams end up having to work through injuries to go deep, but it's rough when it's your starter going down.
  2. The guy with extensive NHL experience. Sure, Silovs has played on a big stage for Latvia but we're not in the regular season anymore, there's no substitute for experience. It's not even as if DeSmith was bad last game. The first goal was a bit of a fluke, the second goal was more on Forsberg being allowed to walk in with time and space, and even the third goal was due to a Pettersson giveaway. Sure, the rebound resulted in a goal but we didn't have anyone there who was able to sweep it away either. The Preds capitalized on the few chances they got, doesn't mean DeSmith was lousy. Will we need more from him? Sure, but it's not as if he's the only one we'll need more from.
  3. Here's hoping it does That would be a good thing, people should be free to job hop as they see fit, particularly in these economic days There's more money in switching up your job/role every few years than there is sticking with one company/organization Waiting it out at a job and hoping for raises won't typically earn folks as much as they'll get for signing on with someone new I've seen it countless times, folks walking in fresh and jumping right to what tenured workers are making, if not more Loyalty doesn't pay
  4. Never gets old, it's basically a modern version of NWA's fuk da police
  5. Dawson hovering around $1.70 Even Grande Prairie's around $1.57 Feels like it was just a few months ago we were paying closer to $1.10 while on one of our Costco trips I miss the days of paying just under a dollar in Nanaimo back during the early Covid days
  6. Here's hoping I won't root for the team itself, but I am rooting for the organization to do well, it's better for everyone if they do
  7. At least they'll probably sell well, I'm kind of rooting for them tbh It'd be neat to see what an organization willing to spend could do with all those picks, prospects, and young players I'm not expecting much any time soon given they've Dallas, Colorado, and Winnipeg jockeying in their division, plus lesser tier teams in Minnesota, Nashville, and St. Louis, but they could maybe overtake one of these teams sooner than later if they build things right Both the Pacific and Central have tough ladders to climb for middling to lesser teams
  8. This is what happens when GM's make decisions while pickled
  9. Hot and talented? Sure, why not.
  10. What getting out of Buffalo does for a mf He's sure shifted a lot of narratives about him since arriving in Vegas
  11. Me either, it sounds pretty rough Same tbh, though I do think Bertuzzi is a bit of a strange dude The Edmonton dislike is different given all the matchups we've had over the years, but with Toronto it's more the media and a segment of the fanbase If the Leafs weren't shoved in the rest of Canada's face as much as they are they'd probably be disliked less Montreal is a much more storied franchise with a fanbase that may very well be larger, they don't get the same treatment
  12. Especially given he played all 82 regular season games I get not liking teams and players, but making light of what could be a neurological issue is no small thing Some things can't be fixed with pharmaceuticals or medical attention
  13. Def sounds concerning though "One of the reasons for the secrecy around his situation is that an actual diagnosis has been hard to come by, whether it is a migraine, a concussion or something else that could affect that area."
  14. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/reason-for-william-nylanders-playoff-absence-hard-to-pin-down/
  15. Maybe, I'd be a little surprised if he were willing to sign in Anaheim though right after finally getting back to the playoffs They're still probably a ways out
