  1. Maybe because he plays in a team environment where the play of the team as a whole affects the performances of its individual parts. Have you ever heard the saying, the sum of the parts is greater than the whole ? That's literally the definition of a good team. As we know Columbus is the opposite of that. As many have pointed out, and management and the coaching department at Columbus leave a lot to be desired. No offense however I don't think much of your charts. As for who pays attention to points, management does when it comes to handing out salaries.
  2. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/scouts-analysis-why-columbus-needs-to-be-careful-with-frustrated-prospect-david-jiricek/ SCOUTS ANALYSIS " The Blue Jackets seem to forget what they have in this prospect. Jiricek can beat goalies at any level with a clapper or snap shot from range. He's a power play threat waiting to happen. He has always produced offense in every stop along his development.
  3. You made a statement that he is playing as worse as last year. I provided information that contradicts that. 82 game schedule he would score 26 points on the pace he is scoring, playing as you state not a lot of minutes each game. Not bad for $2,750,000 a year. He has also cut in half the goals against when he is on the ice. So no, he not playing anywhere near as bad as he was playing last year.
  4. Who says ? You ? Are you, or have you been a professional or semi professional athlete ? Ever had anything to do with the development of talent in regards to athletes. I have. The very first things I taught them was to first believe in themselves 100 percent, and then give 100 percent. There is nothing wrong with being confident in your ability to succeed. That's what I took out of David's statement. He even gave credit to his AHL coaches. There is also a way to develop players. He has shown he deserves to be playing in the NHL. He has earned that opportunity. It's not like the all players who are playing defence for Columbus deserve to be playing ahead of him.
  5. In a heart beat for reasons already explained in another post.
  6. Jake Bean is listed a playing on the third line. And he is playing on the second PP Unit. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/columbus-blue-jackets/line-combinations As I have already posted, he has scored 8 points in 46 games played.
  7. Um no. Last year he scored 13 points in 80 games and was - 41 This year he has scored 6 points in 19 games and is -4 So 82 games that would be double the points from last year and a only - 18 or so. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=187555
  8. Where did he say he wanted top line minutes ? He stated he would like some PP time like some of the players who were drafted after him are getting on their teams.
  9. Jake Bean, D- man, is currently listed as playing on the second PP Unit. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/columbus-blue-jackets/line-combinations He has scored a total of 8 points in 46 games.
  10. I could be wrong of course but I totally believe in David's ability to play at the highest level. I see him as a top pairing RHD at his peak, at worst a second pairing RHD. These guys, top pairing RHD are almost as rare as Rockin horse shit. Wingers not so much. With what he has shown at each level of his career so far I would take the gamble and trade Lekkerimaki for Jiricek in a heart beat. I also love his confidence/ belief in himself.
  11. Fuckin sad that we live in a world where people bag out others who express confidence in their ability to succeed. Have you ever been a professional athlete ? I was a semi- professional athlete in my thirties and forties that, at that time only had a reasonably small amount of full time professional athletes. What I know for a fact is that you have to believe in yourself 100 percent, have total confidence in your ability to succeed at the highest level of your chosen endeavour, if you want to compete at the highest level. I know quite a few ex world champs in sports from boxing, mountain biking, skiing, surfing and snowboarding, Chumpy, rip in peace my brother. These guys all had total belief in their abilities and pushed hard for every opportunity they could get. Like my father taught me, screw the doubters, they are usually sitting on their arses telling you what you can't do. As long as he can put up, why should he shut up. For sure now he has blown his horn the pressure is on.
  12. Yeah I made some poor choices after I left school. Just wanted to be part of a crew, had issues from being told I was adopted. We did some pretty heavy shit. Punchin on with racist skinheads and bikers. Was told I have had an interesting life and friends I worked with at Mt.Hotham media wanted to document it. This is me Have you read NOFX's autobiography, The Hepatitis Bathtub and other Stories. I never realised how violent the Punk scene was in southern cali until I read this book. Must read if you are into punk. All these other things have come and gone in my life, riding and racing dirt bikes, nearly 20 years of skiing bumming, riding and racing downhill MTB. Punk rock has been their since the beginning. I bought Never mind the Bollocks here Come the Sex Pistols in 1977, I am looking at it now, it is up in my bookcase in the lounge room. 60 years later still punkin on. Couple of bucket list punk gigs in the last year were seeing the Circle Jerks last year, they had never toured Aus ever before. Then a couple of weeks ago OFF, Keith Morris's (circle Jerks) band played the corner hotel. Both gigs were fuckin awesome.
  13. Thanks Mike Your kind words are much appreciated. Hope everything is well with you and yours.....
  14. Do you recognise these guys
  15. That's quite a punk rock history of Canada you are posting about there. I know all of those bands and are Cognizant of the history of punk rock in Canada however you sound like you have a real personal connection to it. I am a little bit confused by your reference about the UK Subs being called the Subhumans. They are an English band, originally called The Marauders, then later the Subversives, then changing it to the UK Subs. They do have over 30 past members. I only learnt on Saturday night that Lars Frederiksen, well known as a member of Rancid amongst other bands, actually played for the UK Subs at one point. Speaking of Lars, one his side projects I really love is his band Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards Have you ever watched the doco series Punk produced by Iggy Pop and John Varvatos ? If you are into punk rock music it is must see viewing. Going back to the really early days of punk, not many people know about Afro-American punk bands, these guys formed in 1971 Then there are there are the Bad Brains that formed in 1977. These are so good, the lead singer used to throw backflips on stage
  16. Thank you so much my friend. All day I have had calls from friends, some really nice words/thoughts from friends here in our community I know you love this song as much as I do, it touches our souls This is for you
  17. Thanks Roman I am tired of arguing about the injustice that both Isrealis and Palestinians have had to endure in the last century or so. I gave an example where there is a group of people of different ethnicities in the middle east working towards an plurinational " state", beyond capitalism and a partriarchy, working towards restorative justice, regenerative agriculture, equality for all. This gives me some hope for our species.
  18. You know what, I have had two days of joy and happiness, in a life that's full of darkness. Now I have just learnt that a good friend who was healthy as a horse 5 months ago, then diagnosed with cancer a month later has died today on my Birthday. Trying to stay positive so I will post this from my two " heeb " friends, and their white trash and bean friends Shalom See you on the other side......
  19. Up until 2 day ago my life was so dark, for months I never smiled for more than a few hours at a time... Sitting looking at pictures of my son crying.... Then I dragged my old ass out of the darkness, went and watched some hockey, saw my all time favourite band perform their last gig ever in this country, they are calling it quits after 40 years. Friends have been calling me days, my face is almost sore from smiling
  20. Mate I listened to Sids version so many times. Posters of him and Nancy and the band all over my Walls. I still have them. Off my face, driving fast cars, stating live fast die young and make a good looking corpse. Fuckin 30 ! Who wants to live to 30 man, that's ancient ! Got to 30 and I was like man, I wanna live forever..... Another great band from that era, the UK Subs, this album had one of the best covers ever, Endangered Species
  21. One of my fave Jakie Wilson songs
  22. Cheers brother I have never heard that track before. I do like some of 50 cents stuff. Some rappers are truly wordsmiths. And as we know, words are the most powerful weapons of all. " Learn to use words as weapons because they can be stronger than any fist " Lauren Asher
  23. Thanks my friend. This old punker loves that birthday song......
  24. Some how the images of women and children being killed affect me more. Especially kids. I cannot help but picture Lachlan in my mind. As for equal rights my avatar is my friends daughter that just won an Australasian boxing title that night. It still seem a bit weird watching two girls beating the shit out of each other. As for why I advocate for peace. Apart from my personal experiences with violent situations, my mum used to say to me, why do you take the weight of the world on your shoulders, why do you take on others pain. I honestly don't know, that's just the person I am. I am glad I feel this way. I am glad something hurts inside of me when I see others in pain. Little anecdote, I haven't smiled for 2 complete days since September last year, that was the last time I saw my beautiful Lachlan, his mum is breaking court orders, Parental Alienation/ child abuse. Anyway watched live hockey on Saturday Arvo saw NOFX for the last time ever later on, backed up by a great local band the Clowns. Just found out today that a girl I sat beside at the concert told my friend that I made her night, my interactions with her. Anyway friends have been ringing for the last 2 days for my birthday today, fuckin 60 years old, and got my seniors fuckin card, who would believe it. So much sunshine in the last two days in a life that has been full of darkness, that feels like forever.
