  1. I never called him a clown. I've read many of his posts and like and respect what he usually has to say. Just in that particular instance, I think what he said was a bit clownish. Lindholm has been a bonafide Top 6 player for most of his career. Playing a few games on the 3rd line with Garland doesn't "all of a sudden" make the guy a 3rd line player. Apologies for the confusion.
  2. I never called him a clown. Sorry if it came across that way. I thought what he said in that specific instance was clownish but I usually try not to insult anyone directly like that.
  3. Find me a quote where I said this. Can't find one? What? Can't find one? What? That's what I thought. Thanks for coming out Chief.
  4. Buddy thinks Lindholm is a 3C because he played one game there.
  5. Agreed, I love Hoglander. Unfortunately, he might be the asking price (amongst other pieces) if we want Guentzel (which is ultimately why I’m hesitant in wanting to trade for Guentzel).
  6. Pettersson's point totals this year has come in bunches, relative to the superstars that the above poster cited. Pettersson's consistency, or lack thereof, is definitely a significant concern. The young man has a lot of talent but he's going to have to step if he wants to be full value for his contract. As of this writing, he's not quite there.
  7. I hate to admit it but everyone in this thread should be paying attention to this post right here. This is absolutely one reason why I’m a bit nervous about this contract to Petey. I like the player and I like the term, but he’s not a franchise player as of this writing and the statistics above is living proof.
  8. I'm in the same boat. Living in China and haven't been able to watch much games due to "regional blackouts" despite having paid a hefty price for Sportsnet 360+. Trust me - if Terrorists decide to blow up Sportsnet 360 one day and the executive team, you will not see me shed a single solitary tear.
  9. @43isprime has pretty much said everything that I’ve wanted to say in this thread. My work in this thread is pretty much done, nothing to see here folks.
  10. How would this work from a cap standpoint? Letting Myers go would be a given obviously but who else do we let go? We sign Guentzel and Hronek but who else would we be able to retain? This plan could work but would it be contingent on guys like Hirose, Raty, and Podkolzin cracking the line-up on ELC’s (assuming that POD isn’t moved in a potential Guentzel deal).
  11. It’s a fair enough point but then be prepared to say haastellavista to Lekkerimaki. I don’t think Pits is going to want Podz or any prospect at or below that calibre.
  12. Nils Hoglander is quickly working his way up the ranks imo.
  13. Miller-Pettersson-Boeser (Sc1) Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter (shut down) Joshua-Bluegar-Garland (Sc2) Podkolzin-Lafferty-Hoglander (Hogs consistently producing and driving this line just as he has all year). Hughes-Hronek Soucy-Myers Cole-Zadorov Juulsen Demko DeSmith This is and was my vision of this team when we initially traded for Lindholm but management (and the fans) decided to turn heel on me it seems.
  14. -Put Suter on that Lindholm line -Put Petey on Miller/Brock -Lafferty or maybe even Raty between Hog and Podz
  15. The Canucks brass, for whatever reason, created a problem that never existed in the first place. Prior to the Lindholm trade, we already had two lines that could consistently score (Lotto Line and Garland’s line). Three lines when you consider that Hoglander was driving the 4th line and consistently scoring. Yes our 2nd line of Mikheyev, Suter, and Kuzmenko was completely useless but it was a non-issue given the above. In theory, Lindholm should have been an excellent addition for us because he could have taken that Suter/Mikheyev line, and turned it into a supreme shut down line. Mikheyev and Suter, despite their offensive impotency, are among the best defensive players in the league. Ditto for Lindholm even when his offense isn’t up to par. USE THAT! Instead, our coaching staff became obsessed with Pettersson and Lindholm forming a man on man penis on penis relationship with one another in hopes of creating a baby (to address an issue which never existed in the first place). Even now, it’s not too late. 1. Reunite the Lotto Line 2. Podkolzin with Bluegar/Garland until Joshua comes back. 3. Let Hoglander continue to dominate on the 4th line. Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter, much like me during my college days, probably won’t be able to score much, but this line would be among the best shut down lines in the league.
  16. My concern with Guentzel is that he might not age well since he’s diminutive in nature but tend to play bigger than his size…..and he already has some minor issues with frequent injuries. Lindholm’s exceptional defensive play and faceoff abilities would be far handier for us, nevermind considering the fact that Lindholm can also play center (just in case one of Petey or Miller go down with injury). Maybe you’re right about Vegas and Edmonton, but I still think there are too many other teams better than us (Colorado, Winnipeg, Florida, etc.) To your idea however - if the goal is to make an aggressive push for this season, then I’d be willing to bring in Guentzel but keep Lindholm…..perhaps using Mikheyev and possibly Lekkerimaki as starting points (I personally wouldn’t want to go down this route however). Miller-Pettersson-Boeser (primary scoring) Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter (elite shut down line taking on tough defensive match-ups) Joshua-Bluegar-Garland (secondary scoring) Hoglander-Lafferty-Podkolzin Move Lindholm to the top line if someone from Lotto line gets hurt. Move Hog or Podz to Bluegar line if someone from that line gets hurt. Lotto line and Joshua line get more offensive deployment if Lindholm line continuously proves that it can take on the most challenging defensive assignments (which I think they can).
  17. Lindholm is a good player - we just haven’t been using him in the correct manner imo. Prior to his arrival, the Canucks had absolutely zero issue with secondary scoring, and yet created this entire false narrative that we needed to split up the Lotto Line long term. Suter-Lindholm-Mikheyev should have been a shut dow line right from Day One. OR Putting Miller/Petey together with Lindholm/Boeser anchoring a different line.
  18. Perhaps management has a different view but I’m not seeing a cup winner with this team even with Guentzel. I absolutely can’t see us getting by Vegas or the Oilers in the 2nd round, or a Winnipeg/Colorado in the 3rd round. Even our first round will go 6-7 games imo with a realistic possibility of us being bounced. I know fans won’t like what I just said, and I’ll gladly eat Ryan Reaves poo if I’m wrong, but it’s just how I see it. This team is fucked if any one of Miller, Hughes, or Demko go down with injury. IF we do Lindholm/Podz for Guentzel (signed before he arrives?) then I’d somewhat be on board with this, but we’ll have basically given up Podz, Hunter, Jurmo, and a 2024 1st all for Guentzel (29 years old……and will be looking for a long term deal). I know Podkolzin has been slow in his development but I think there’s something there with him. With OEL’s cap hit going to hit its peak over these next few years, we could use Podkolzin’s ELC.
  19. I think she’s “ok” but definitely not hot. I wouldn’t label her as unattractive however. She’s more Brock Boeser calibre as opposed to a Connor McDavid or Nathan Mackinnon.
  20. I agree with everything that you just said. My Lindholm argument (ie put Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter together) is for this season and this season alone. After this season, I think we should move on from Lindholm regardless (he basically becomes our 2020 Toffoli). Also, under my above scenario, I’d reunite the Lotto line while putting Podkolzin with Bluegar/Garland until Joshua returns. At the end of season, move on from Lindholm, Myers, and Cole. Sign Hronek, Bluegar, Joshua, and DeSmith to long term deals (I’m not sure if Silovs is ready). Find a pathway to elevate Podkolzin, Raty, and Hirose into the line-up next season if they are ready. Ditto for Lekkerimaki. I don’t like the idea of trading for Guentzel and I don’t like the idea of extending Lindholm. For this season and this season alone, make Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter a shut down line, and let the Lotto line and Bluegar/Garland be responsible for our secondary scoring. Let Hoglander continue to chip in goals from the 4th line.
