  1. 1. Forget about Guentzel. Would cost too high quality of a prospect. 2. Mikheyev++ for Evander Kane. The bad news? Evander Kane is a lockerroom cancer and a douchebag. The good news? Kane doesn’t turn into a douchebag and a lockerroom cancer for atleast a couple of years on a new team…….meaning, that we’d get only the positives of Kane for the first two seasons. Kane would turn into a douche two years later but he’d only have a year left on his contract……and he will have helped us win a cup in 2024. Buddy is everything that we currently need.
  2. Devils aren’t moving Jack Hughes because Hughes has arguably the best contract in the league. Would you move Quinn Hughes for Rasmus Dahlin?
  3. No more trading roster players this season. Making trades are great but overdoing it can alter the team chemistry. We’ve had a winning season this season and so why risk messing with team chemistry. There is an inherent risk in overtrading.
  4. If Petey refuses to sign at the end of the season, then I suggest we trade him for first rounders and elite prospects. Not only would this replenish the pipeline to prevent a “Mike Gillis like 2014 drop off,” but it would also allow us to re-sign guys like Lindholm, Bluegar, DeSmith, and Joshua, while also allowing us to potentially sign some extra depth.
  5. Yes, there were a lot of losers at HF Canucks that wanted this since Miller was perceived as a Jim Benning guy. Check out this thread made by one of their posters from a few years ago: https://forums.hfboards.com/threads/jt-miller-vs-ryan-kesler.2895336/
  6. I'm in the minority here but I'd probably trade Petey after this season regardless of what happens this season. 11+ million dollar cap hits are killers to any team no matter how good the player is. To Columbus: Pettersson To Buffalo: Owen Power++ Let Myers walk + re-sign Lindholm, Bluegar, DeSmith, etc. Suter-Miller-Boeser Hoglander-Lindholm-Lekkerimaki Joshua-Bluegar-Garland Podkolzin-Raty-Lafferty Hughes-??? Power-Hronek Soucy-Zadorov Demko DeSmith
  7. I would strongly advise against making more trades since making too many trades could start to alter team chemistry. The Canucks have made enough trades now. They should focus on being creative with their lines. With Joshua out, here is what I'd try. Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter [shut down line] PDG-Bluegar-Garland Hoglander-Aman-Lafferty
  8. Yes. Jack has arguably the best value contract in the league.
  9. Or, while Joshua is out, Pettersson-Lindholm-Boeser Miller-Bluegar-Garland Mikheyev-Suter-Hoglander
  10. I think the Canucks are trying too hard to accommodate Lindholm and have broken up the Lotto Line as a result. Keep the Lotto Line in tact. Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Let Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter be a premier shut down line that can potentially chip in goals. Let these guys go out there and shut down/contain. Put Hoglander with Bluegar and Garland while Joshua is out. Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter Hoglander-Bluegar-Garland Lastly, as counter productive as they may sound, stop making trades. Right now, there’s a bigger risk in messing with team chemistry (which has been very good this entire season) than improving the team via trade. At the end of the season, move on from Myers and Pettersson. Trade Pettersson for a boat load of picks and elite prospects (I love Petey but won’t be worth whatever cap hit he receives). Re-sign Lindholm, Bluegar, Joshua, etc, to long term deals. Continue to
  11. Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Meier-Lindholm-Hoglander Joshua-Bluegar-Garland PDG-Suter-Lafferty Hughes-Hronek Soucy-Zadorov Cole-C. Miller Demko DeSmith
  12. I would be inclined to agree with this if it wasn’t for the following series’ -Chicago 2009 -Chicago 2010 -Chicago 2011 -Boston 2011 -Los Angeles 2012 -San Jose 2013 The treatment that the Canucks received in all six of those series was basically on the same toxic level that many minorities face in the United States with regards to racist treatment.
  13. LOL. I go to Tibet for a week and noticed that the Minnesota Vikings defeated the BC Lions by a score of 10-7. What the heck happened?
  14. To what extent would a Jonathan Lekkerimaki call-up and a Phil Kessel emergence help address the Canucks’ lack of 2nd line snipers? Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Kessel-Lindholm-Lekkerimaki Joshua-Bluegar-Garland Mikheyev-Suter-Hoglander Hughes-Hronek Cole-Myers Soucy-Zadorov Demko DeSmith
  15. I would look for elite young players instead since this current Canucks team is in their window. I’d try and do something around Pettersson to Buffalo for Owen Power and Dylan Cozens.
  16. Who is Dak? Also, there’s one thing that needs to be clarified: There’s a big difference between having a legit elite top pairing in the league (Hughes and Hronek) and having Hughes carry a #4 calibre defenseman. Can Hughes carry a #4 calibre guy? Absolutely. Would said pairing be elite? Nope.
  17. No way on earth I downgrade from Hronek to RR despite the cap savings.
  18. Yes, I do. Perhaps I’m mistaken but I don’t have a lot of confidence in any of our lines with the exception of the Garland line. I just don’t get a sense that Miller/Boeser on one line and Pettersson/Lindholm on another line will hurt anyone come playoff time. On the flip side, I believe that the Lotto Line is also extremely formidable, to the point where Lotto Line + Garland Line will give opponents fits. One combination that I wouldn’t mind experimenting with is Miller/Lindholm on one line and Pettersson/Boeser on another line, with Miller/Lindholm taking on the tougher match ups. Hoglander-Miller-Lindholm PDG-Pettersson-Boeser Joshua-Bluegar-Garland Mikheyev-Suter-Lafferty Maybe something like that.
  19. Maybe I’m being too quick to judge but I haven’t been a huge fan of the Petey/Lindholm pairing. Would much rather see Petey play with Boeser or Miller Aside from Kessel, I wonder if Alvin intends to bring up Lekkerimaki or Podkolzin up to the bigs (are they waiver exempt? - I don’t think Podkolzin is but am not 100% sure). My problem with a Suter-Miller-Boeser Hoglander-Pettersson-Lindholm type set up is that neither line really scares anyone and can manhandled physically. The Lotto line can tilt the ice in a similar manner to the WCE and Sedins/Burrows. With the Lotto Line fucking with the heads of opposing coaches, this can free up the Garland line…….or even a Lindholm line if you get someone like Kessel and/or Lekkerimaki on there. Hoglander-Suter-Mikheyev then make for a stacked fourth line. Pettersson-Miller-Boeser Kessel-Lindholm-Lekkerimaki Joshua-Bluegar-Garland Hoglander-Suter-Mikheyev Aman (maybe under this scenario, PDG gets moved to Philly for one of their rumoured dmen?)
  20. Personally, I’d go: Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Mikheyev-Lindholm-Suter (shut down line) Joshua-Bluegar-Garland Hoglander-Aman-Lafferty / Hoglander-Lafferty-PDG IF that doesn’t work, proceed with Hoglander-Pettersson-Lindholm Suter-Miller-Boeser Joshua-Bluegar-Garland PDG-Lafferty-Mikheyev (as we’ve been doing).
  21. I think you’re going to be very disappointed if you’re expecting Phil Kessel to be a Top 6 calibre player at this juncture of his career. I expect him to be a 13th forward if he makes the team.
  22. Agreed that the Garland line gets easier match ups, but it ultimately doesn’t change the fact that the Canucks continuously and consistently get scoring outside of their top line. For example, Hoglander has 17 goals, while our 3rd line has often been our most dangerous line 5 on 5 (albeit against each matchups). Therefore, I am of the belief that it’s not necessary if our 2nd line produces that much offense or not. Just have Mikheyev-Suter-Lindholm be a shut down line and throw the Lotto Line back together. Our 3rd and 4th lines will continue to produce even if opposing teams throw the kitchen sink at the Top Line.
  23. Yeah I don’t know…. I mean what is he now, 38? He was a healthy scratch when Vegas won the cup (a sub-par performance in the first round earned him a first class trip to the press box to play with boners and eat chicken wings). Speaking of boners, I’d be excited if Kessel was joining us in 2014…..but it’s 2024 now. I’m just not sure what Kessel will be able to do at this point. Daniel Sedin would have been more useful than Phil Kessel in my opinion.
  24. All great lines go through peaks and valleys do they not? Peak WCE and Sedins/Burrows weren’t always on fire.
