I really liked Hoagie’s first period. He battled hard. Miller line is generating some good looks but execution a bit sloppy. Hughes definitely wants to out the Preds to sleep. Hope he can keep it going.

Marner is the sort of player I wouldnt trade for unless the deal really favours the Canucks. 10 million cap hit for a player we have no idea how he will mesh/fit under Tocchett. High risk. Signed for 2 years then can walk in 25-26. Great regular season player but disappears in the playoffs. Petey already has those sorts of question marks-why gamble with another player like that? Im of the mind the Canucks need to continue to do business like they have-sign smaller cap deals that have the potential to pay off/provide depth. I would be extremely hesitant to add any high priced players unless it is someone the org. believes they HAVE to have. Canucks have to manage the cap very well for the upcoming OEL buy out years.

couple of thoughts: I really think if the Canucks can re-sign big Z they should. IMO he should be wearing an A for this team and I believe would be very honoured to do so. Was trying to think of a bottom 6 dynamo line. Maybe: Hoglander Bleugar Lafferty then see if PDG can be the retrieval guy he was earlier in the year. I dont usually have a problem w Frank Seravalli (actually find his perspective interesting a lot of the time) but him and Jason Gregor were definitely poo pooing on the NSH-VAN series. It has been low event for sure (comparatively), but they both seemed to imply that when matched up against one of the more high flying teams neither would stand a chance. First things first but I would live to see Jason Gregor eat his words. Dude annoys the F out of me.

Spent some time watching crowd reaction to the late game antics. Seeing the Canuck fans in NSH jump for joy and some NSH fans immediately pick up their stuff and leave the arena was F’n awesome. Villain status accomplished

Taking in that celebration footage-man what a high for those guys and it’s only round 1 game 4. Moments like that really forge a team spirit. So awesome.

checked the score at work. was pretty bummed to finally check back in and see it 3-1 NSH in the third. Then on my break i see the OT win . GD this team man. So stoked Boeser and Lindy were the heros. post game podcast walk home and watching the taped game is gonna be sweet!
