Nashville will throw everything they have at Vancouver because they'll know coming back home to Nashville down 0-2 will be extremely difficult to come back from. Watch for their false tough guys try to stir it up tomorrow. They won't take on Z but will try to stir the pot.

I hope DJ doesn't fight tomorrow. He's more valuable on the ice making hits, creating turnovers and pressuring their D.

I hope we don't answer the bell to fight. We need to respond by continuing to lay big hits.

That doesn't mean turn the other cheek though. Give them face washes and scrums after the whistle but don't risk getting hurt in a fight against an inferior team.

I have no idea how Myers didnt get a penalty for that rabbit punch against a NSH player lol

  2. One more rant regarding Petey:

I think this is an important year for him learning/development wise.

Its his first full year under Tocchett.  I think Petey has fully bought into Tocc’s philosophy-take what they give you.  He’s playing a very methodical game and (I believe) his floor is raising.  While I do think Hoggy is a good linemate, having another systems guy that can produce like a Guentzel for example would likely result in more dynamic play.  What I like about Petey though is that he is committed to playing within the team structure (not that he was a free wheeler) but in the past he might try to force more skilled plays.  Even though people think he is struggling I see a more evolved approach to his game that will continue to get better.

I totally agree and I truly believe with his drive, he won't like what happened this season and will adjust. My opinion is more based on the distractions that come with being a young, wealthy hockey player. Just speculation, but something is definitely off.

One thing I have noticed is that he is playing within the system/not over extending himself.  Take what’s given.  His line as a whole hasnt been able to generate more but they also havnt been a liability.  I do think beyond this year we will see a more individually dominant Petey but atm line chemistry seems to be the big thing.

Hate to say it, but I'm questioning EP's off season efforts to an extent. Not saying he doesn't apply himself, but he is young. A young man with tonne of cash and access to a tonne of fun and maybe there's another level of training he needs to grow into. Not that he's Jake Virtanen, but maybe he needs to evolve into what it takes to be the best.

I dont think you need to (overly) worry about Petey.  He is one of the rare, obsessed and driven players (like Hughes) who want to achieve their best.  I feel like I can confidently say that.

The way I look at Petey is in terms of years.  He’s year 6 Petey right now at age 25. I see year 7 Petey and beyond being better versions of himself because he works so hard in the off season.  You can definitely see the changes physically and as his body matures there is room for growth.  I know people are concerned about him right now, and that’s fair.  He’s still a very slick player w the ability to make game breaking plays-hopefully we can see it make an impact in the playoffs.

Honestly, I didn't really notice him out there tonight - at least not the first two periods? What was I missing?

I didn't get to see the third period, and that's when the boys came back from the 2-1 deficit. How did you feel like Miller was unbelievable tonight?

He willed the team along with his compete level.
