He's the type of heavy, physical specimen that helps teams win in playoffs.  He's not just a big and tall body but he's an intimidating,  menacing beast. 

 

Dakota Joshua is also in the same category albeit at forward position. 

 

 

Love Z and all the intangibles he brings but unless him/Soucy and the coaching staff are comfortable w one of them playing the right side Im not sure there’s room in the top 4.  

I think Z and Hronek have priced themselves out of VAN but that’s ok-turnover should be a normal part of team building.   Maybe the Canucks can pull off a Hronek for Zub trade or something like that (younger, less proven or producing D man)

He’s very good at winning puck battles.  Watch him in a 1 v 1 down low and hes strong-its not easy for opponents.  Maybe with w bis new linemates they can grind and get the puck to the net.

They had a great pre season together.  Played w a ton of pace and vs CGY shut them down anytime they were in the ice.  Granted it was pre season but hopefully they can recapture that.

Tocchett mentioned he needs play drivers on his wing.  Right now hes not like JT but w a good off season or two I think he can get there.  Also, a big part of creating offence for him is playing good defense and maybe hes learning how he needs that extra gear to do it.

It s funny-fans and media were slagging on Hughes post game availability, saying they were cookie cutter responses like Horvat etc.  I thought he was being very honest and revealing (to the point of not giving up too much).  Added some nuance etc.  He’s no different than Tocchett really when it comes to breaking down the game (Xs & Os).  

Canucks miss Garland/Bleugar/Joshua.  The momentum they create and scoring was big.  Maybe Lindholm can work out btw those two-if not dont be scared to go back to Bleugar.

I believe in Hoagie/EP but finding a third they have chemistry w has been difficult…
