I wonder if the Canucks try to sign Taylor Raddysh? They are desperate for RH RWs and he would be a buy low option that fits w how Tocchett wants to play. Hopefully he’s interested in the team/coaching staff here

I like them for their dependability and they help fill roles. Keeps the floor high. Unless the Canucks can nab a talented UFA at a great price, Id be ok w saving some cap room, seeing how things go with some of the new faces, and see if any other opportunities come open up via trade etc.

Call me crazy but I’d like to see the Canucks just chill on July 1. Make offers to: Dillon 3.5 x 3 years Foegele 3.5 x 4 years Duhaime 2 x 2 years Tack on an extra .5k if you need to or go cray-cray and sign Guentzel idgaf

Dillon is awesome. Great player on and off the ice. Moves pretty good for a big guy. W no big Z this is the guy I really hope they sign

Taking a bit less to re-sign in VAN knowing how high the expectations and scrutiny will be (internally and externally) after signing his new deal makes me think Dak is ready to be that consistent, reliable pro. No more bad off seasons etc. Wants to be a major contributor for this group and im glad to see it

Not that JG wouldnt be a nice add if everything works out, but Id like to see the Canucks do something a little unpredicted too. Sign a good UFA at a cheaper rate and trade for a younger player.

If they can move Mik Im starting to like the idea of re-signing Joshua and having him and Garland on Peteys wing. Then find a burner or someone like Stephenson to play w Miller/Boeser

PLD is the reason why I think it’s smart to avoid expensive signings w/o knowing what the fit will be like. Miller, Petey, Hronek all got big deals based on how they’ve performed w the Canucks. I kinda hope they chase a younger RFA winger for Petey (as has been rumoured) for these same reasons. But this mgmt group does deserve the benefit of the doubt too

Hope they can get something done. Big Z is an emotional leader for this team and is one of the guys who steps it up when the pressure is on.

Yeah it was just a hypothetical situation, although if it were to become a reality Soucy would have to be moved (I did mention that).

Really curious what the Canucks final offer is and whether that’s sufficient for big Z to stay. From the outside looking in it does kind of seem like him and his family really want to be here. But if other teams are offering a huge payday it would be hard to say no to that. And the Canucks cant be held hostage by what other teams are willing to offer. So a fair deal if they can come to terms will be super interesting. And I wonder if that means a guy like Carson Soucy has to be moved…. Dream scenario for me is the Canucks can have big Z AND Dillon on the back end.

SN650 was talking about what it would take to re-sign Lindy. Upping money / term, providing more top line opportunity etc. No one even mentioned that maybe Lindy just has a different destination in mind-somewhere he just wants to be. Doesnt mean he didnt like his time in VAN. Seems pretty obvious to me.

more of a figure of speech based on how I see them play on the ice. Joshua is great at holding a spot on the ice-it’s hard for players to get through him and he stands players up well. Duhaime is a better skater who’s physicality comes out when he’s moving his legs. Joshua looked like he would chase hits whereas Duhaime explodes into his checks.

One thing worth noting about Guentzel are his linemates. Has spent most of his time w Crosby/Rust and in CAR Aho/Svech. SN650 keep gushing about his production but it’s important to note how aggressive his linemates are at forechecking/digging for pucks. EP needs to have a big summer. If they do sign JG they will definitely need someone that can be aggressive along the walls
