  1. absolutely not, unless he’s a born again defensive ace
  2. I wouldnt be surprised at all if under Tocchett/Foote Jalen can play in the top 4. Chatfield would suit the system very well. He’s athletic, battles hard and can skate/make a good first pass.
  3. really liked Lindy, but wasnt super sure about fit with EP and Miller already Cs on the team. Lindy probably has a destination in mind. Re-signing Bleugar would be awesome, although having a RH C that can win in the dot is a big need.
  4. always liked him. too bad the canucks were a tire fire when he was w the org
  5. Ive been trying to think of scorers that can level up into strong 2 way players, and both of these guys Im interested in. If in talking to their agents both state they want to play and grow under Tocchett I would be stoked. If not, Id pass. Canucks finally have an identity and they should definitely stick w it.
  6. Garland did a lot of heavy lifting when paired with DJ. It’ll be interesting to see how Joshua’s production goes w new line mates. Best case scenario he keeps it going. Worst case scenario he turns into another David Clarkson
  7. Panthers in 4 would make me so happy. Also F this intro
  8. Tocchet relied on him so much. If Miller is the heart and soul of this team Garland cant be far behind. He’s a + for this team not a -
  9. would be really interesting if he signs here. How they build the roster out afterwards is going to be intriguing
  10. Garland Miller Boeser

    Hoglander Petey DeBrusk

  11. Hughes gets a lot of credit for how slick he is offensively but man I saw Tanev just kill plays defensively vs VGK/COL with his skating and positioning, then a quick pass or skate it out. It was impressive.
  12. Not necessarily pushing back, but one point that I think is important to keep on mind is not being afraid of roster turnover IF a deal that helps the team is available. Brock is definitely worth extending for a number of big reasons. But I also look to something like the Fiala trade (albeit traded for different reasons) where if the right deal exists, you can help your team short/long term. Again, this topic is just to open up discussion. I wondered when Allvin talked about making “tough decisions” whether Brock might fall into that category.
  13. Would be a very good C / mentor for Pody. Consistent, reliable pro and big part of the PK
  14. I hope the Oilers get F’d in the finals by the Panthers
  15. In the mclellan, tippet, knoblauch era though. Im more curious what this coaching/development staff could ‘maybe’ do w him
  16. true. I was putting a lot of faith into the coaching / development staff he’s unique given he’s a rh shot, has size, can skate and some high end potential. agreed guys like Bains deserve a serious look. Karlsson is a rh too.
  17. I think the Canucks should try to acquire Poolparty. They are short on RH shots on the wing. I would really like to see what the coaching/development staff could do with him. In my viewings he is a hardworking player. Tocchett’s system is straightforward and rewards hard work. Could be one of those reclamation projects that pay dividends. He could get a shot w Petey (he needs a true RH wing badly imo). Previously, I had a very long winded draft made up of why Petey doesnt need a super star like a Kaprizov or Panarin type. He needs 2 way players with speed, (some) size and decent hands. Petey is the elite skilled talent on his line. In the playoffs soft skill disappears (eg Panarin, Marner etc). A guy like Robert Thomas would be perfect but that’s a dream scenario. Poolparty could play in a bottom 6 role if a Petey experiment doesnt work. Canucks need some cheaper talent that fits his player profile. Having Karlsson and Poolparty in the bottom 6 on the right side would be ok IMO. Just an idea. Dubas/PIT probably isnt even open to the idea but who knows.
  18. 3x3 would be fair and work for the Canucks but I would bet other teams would offer that (if not more). He could play closer to home and not have to travel as much. Lets see if he wants to stay a Canuck
  19. “For”. Year 1 of whatever contract he signs will be for his age 29 season. Reading comprehension.
