[Rumour] - Buchnevich linked to VAN
Goose replied to Captain insano's topic in Trades, Rumours, and Signings
They are both scoring wingers. Buch has been more productive but in terms of how they play I dont see a huge gulf btw them. Someone like Barbashev is someone I thought brings a more dynamic type of play with his physicality/recklessness. -

seems like a major overpayment for PB. He’s good but not that good. Arguably him and Debrusk are comparable players. -
[RUMOUR] Vancouver may be pursuing Jake Guentzel

I like Lindholm. He’s great around the net, responsible and obviously the RH C they desired, but I feared he wasnt going to be a play driver. Before they made the trade I thought they needed someone who plays a bit reckless and can push the D back on the forecheck. It would be crazy if they flipped EL for some JG or maybe even PB but big picture might be the way to go. -
Watching the game now. Holy F Big Z had a rough couple of shifts to start the game but that pass to Garland was awesome. like Garland on PP1. Makes unpredictable plays which seems to get the 1st unit going. I like the blueprint of Bleugar’s line. 2nd period in and they have hustled hard every shift. Podz had a great d shift midway through the second. Looks confident and comfortable so far. Goood on him

I like the idea of a Duhaime and Greenway. Two guys that can crash and bang might help open the ice up a bit for their linemates. -
[discussion]Is Mikheyev Un-tradeable?
Goose replied to Goose's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Oh and has two more years on current contract after this one. -
He has a M-NTC (submits 12 team no trade list). Coming off an ACL injury. Playing not great. Gets paid 5.3ish million in actual dollars next year. I hope he can bounce back but I dont think the Canucks have the luxury of waiting. If he can be moved at all-where?

Dune Part 2 8.5 / 10 FTR Im a big Dennis Villeneuve and Dune fan. Its a very beautiful/well shot film. Moments are super captivating (like the Geidi Prime/Harkonen scenes. Im glad it is getting near perfect scores but maybe because I already know the Dune story I wasnt blown away? I still consider Sicario one of DV’s best films and I would put Dune (both part 1&2) in a tier below along w Arrival/Bladerunner 2049/Prisoners etc.

On the face of it I was wondering if Lindholm is a play driver which is what I thought the Canucks needed. Hoagie EP Lindholm should be a good line on paper. LA exposed what the Canucks need which the ability to dump and chase. If Mikheyev isnt going to get it done I think they need to replace him w someone who does.

[GDT]Vancouver Canucks hosting Pittsburgh Penguins Feb 27 2024 7pm PST.

If I hear any BS about JT smashing his stick…. -
The attitude thing w JT (and people over analyzing it) has always bothered me. The dude cares ALOT and wears his heart on his sleeve. The team sucked ass for awhile and it was a frustrating situation. His on ice body language is par for the course given that. Tocchett helped mentor him (and the team for that matter) and overall now + a winning atmosphere youve got a more professional attitude. Channel that emotion into your compete and hes done that. What matters the most to me, is how you treat your teammates. Do you help pick them up and get them going? Can you challenge them in productive ways? From what Ive heard JT is all about the team, and do t bother with the Delia thing (that was 100% situational)

Not gonna lie, JT taking Bains under his wing is pretty F’n awesome
