Sure, hits arnt his forte but you cant deny he plays in the gritty areas. Ive never seen him shy away from a puck battle.

No. He’s developing to become a Bleugar type of C. He works hard to keep plays alive and ranginess/skating/PK ability he has helps more than people think. Id argue Mikheyev/PDG dont play close enough to be a grinding 4th line. Lafferty/Aman/Hog did well because they supported each other extremely well and could win battles. If you want more grit. Id say add a winger

I like the idea of him playing w JT/BB. They all play a very similar style of game. Once EL starts to get some of the tendencies down itll be good (i hope)

When they watch the game tape that tip in goal would be a good example. Hoagie wasnt exactly slow but that extra couple seconds he gave the DET player to tip the puck in will be a good reminder. Granted that was like a picture perfect tip. Tough though. I liked a lot of the Canucks compete that game. You could tell it was personal.

Overall I liked the Canucks game. 7min PK then two goals were huge. DET goals (especially the tip in) will drive them nuts. Canucks competed hard to try and win in regulation. They’ll be pissed. On to the next one.
