Reports are CGY wants a 1st for Tanev, and to retain add a prospect.

OS is not a great skater and basically another Markus Granlund. As a depth player in case of injury sure but I dont see him as a starter.

The hope would be he thrives in this line up. If he were to line up w Suter/Mikheyev for example he would be that big body around the net creating havoc. Might open things up for his line mates. I do see him as a guy that can up his game in the playoffs, is a regular PKr for BUF etc.

I think Greenway is a serious possibility

CBJ cap situation is interesting. Tons of RFAs this year and some next year too to figure out. The young Russians have done really well-wonder if guys like Kent Johnson might get squeezed out

In the past I would have agreed w this, but Tanev has been relatively healthy w CGY and I have a hunch playing under Tocchett he would be running around a lot less/less tire fire moments where he has to bail the team out. Canucks seem to play relatively composed. Its a chance I might be willing to take

they are helping their lines click. I think adding one more player like that would do wonders for the top 6 whether it’s high end (Guentzel) or lower end (B.Tanev)

To my surprise I thought IMac had some interesting things to day regarding Schenn on the post game show last night. Schenn plays hard and that’s his reputation. Seemed to imply that you have to expect a hard play from him. Maybe Petey was tired on an extended shift and is on the lighter side at that. To me that’s playoff intensity hockey anyways so Im not too upset with the non call. I didnt like how long he took to get back in the play (and I bet Tocchett was more PO’d about that)

I dont think people understand just what it’s like coming back from a serious injury w/o a proper off season like Mikheyev has. It probably has been tough yet you wont hear him complain about it. I like his game a lot. As for Kuz, he’s feeling the pressure now but howabout come playoffs? Is he a player that ups their game when the intensity is as high as it gets? Im not so sure. I’ll keep banging the drum but a fast and relentless 2 way player like Brandon Tanev would really help EP/Mikheyev out. Funny thing is that JT/Boeser need a guy like that too.
