  1. Konecny is a perfect fit for the top 6. Tocchett loves the guy for good reason. Definitely someone I think either EP / Miller would benefit from and a player Id re-sign. Podz is the big dice roll. I wonder what mgmt/player develop think his trajectory is.
  2. My one concern about Bear is that he has to be in tip top shape to be effective. But I liked his game last year and he could be a reliable partner for any of the LHD.
  3. Im curious but we probably wont know untill season end player availability, where Milkheyev is at in his recovery. He is also one of the key cogs in this line up. On that note, how this team performs by the 82 game mark is intriguing as well. It’s Tocchett’s first full season w this team. If he cant get what he needs out of certain playets, I dont think PA is going to be shy about trying to improve the team.
  4. LVGK is a well oil machine. This is their final product. VAN still working towards that. Long season and looking fwd to CGY on Saturday.
  5. Will be interesting to see how the D core meshes once Soucy is healthy. Myers has been playing better but I still see sequences where he doesnt execute well on subtle plays leading to more DZT. Plenty of game left before TDL though so we will see.
  6. His skating is very very good as well. Goes end to end all the time.
  7. Aman up front as well. Tocchett and Allvin establishing the defensive PITA identity they want.
  8. On the menu tonight: Shepards Pie!
  9. When Bear is healthy and in good shape he is 100% a NHL player. Where he slots in a D core is debatable but he has utility. One of his best attributes is sealing off along the wall, especially defending on the rush. And his retrievals were solid. But that’s when he was in tip top shape. Im acknowledging the fact that’s a big ? when he does come back. Im also considering the lack of options available to the Canucks. A 1 year deal aint a bad idea given the current state of the Canucks D core.
  10. “Absolutely” is pretty strong wording. Played well enough last year but that’s when he was healthy. Soucy will be coming back so like I said….stop gaps Sure, and it might be too optimistic to hope he can play at relatively the same level as last year as well coming off an injury. Im just thinking of relatively affordable depth options. Once Soucy comes back and depending on what they do w Myers it will be interesting.
  11. Any of those young guys would be great but like you say (and also what I was thinking) their availability is probably limited at best. Odds are though that the Canucks will be looking for solid stop gaps. I hope Bear is working his tail off because he is probably the best solution for this year. Doesnt cost them anything, knows the team etc etc
  12. Figured I’d take a look around to see what sort of realistic D options there are for a trade, and man does it look grim. Peeke - dude seems to be getting ripped for basically being a massive liability in the D zone. Has barely played this year and has term…. Stanley - has played 3 of WPG’s regular season games. Was hoping Foote might be able to mentor him but he’s probably no better than Juulsen…. And of course the Jets are playing well, so Dillon is probably a no go. If the Pens continue to falter, Marcus Pettersson could be a legit decent add
  13. Ive often wondered about Garland back to ARZ. Hes had success w Schmaltz. But he’s also playing well w Bluegar and Joshua so …
  14. there is a chef that turns these massive mushrooms into ‘steaks’. From what I recall it requires quite a bit of prep work and definitely leans towards the decadent of things, but it looks good. One of my favorite dishes is to thinly slice portobello mushrooms and heavily season it with garlic powder, some salt and cayenne pepper. Add a few sliced onions and douse everything w balsamic vinegar. Bake in oven for a while. Goes really well w mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts etc. One of my comfort dishes on a cold day.
  15. Yeah, Ive been thinking the same thing i.e it’s a process. Some encouraging signs at least. I wont be getting comfortable though (post season appearance) until the end of the regular season.
