I am not a fan of Cole's play this series, it is time to sit him for Game 6 regardless of his experience.  The Oilers has really exposed Cole with the speed.

He has definitely been given a long leash to play his way out of it given bis experience but at some point…

Loved that Soucy scored but hes struggled at times too.

i was really rooting for Mikheyev. His performance these playoffs and now being a healthy scratch in my opinion are going to make it close to impossible to trade.

i would be surprised if this happens this summer. How can we justify losing one of Lindholm, Joshua, Zadarov at his expense.

I took a look at the buy out calculator too.  I highly doubt the Canucks want to have both OEL and Mik on the books, but if they did go that route next summer would be the time do it (2 years under 2 mill).

I wonder if he gets the tough love approach this summer like Boeser did, and with a healthy ACL works his ass off.  Or he just gets moved somehow someway….

Something to re-vist later for sure

Am I overreacting to what could just be a period of reflection and adjustment in play by Hronek? Maybe. But he is trending the wrong way over a fairly lengthy period. I would rather be proactive than be stuck with a 7.3M-8M+ underperforming player.

My opinion of Hronek hasnt changed all year.  Really good complimentary player for Hughes.  The Canucks reported offer was MORE than fair and he turned it down imo.

Much like how Petey was putting up points early in the year, I saw Hronek’s points kind of similar-empty.  He’s a good player but Im not sure Im on the same page where he/his agent think hes at.

I dont begrudge Allvin for taking a swing at

him.  I’d try to find a trade partner as well-maybe a younger team like CHI or OTT that are looking for players in his age range to support their younger players and have the draft assets to do it.  Allvin has shown he will flip assets for what he is after.

  4. imo regarding Petey it’s pretty simple: regular season v playoff hockey & his maturation as an athlete.  He’s learning some tough lessons on where his deficiencies are.  Are his wingers helping?  No, but it’s pretty clear Petey is having difficulty adjusting to how physical and tight playoff hockey is.  He’s not a finished product.  That’s ok.

    Boeser went through something similar.

I had this idea too, but more like this:

    Line 1: Boeser - Miller -  Pettersson
    Line 2: Joshua - Lindholm - Garland
    Line 3: Suter - Blueger - Mikheyev
    Line 4: Hoglander - Karlsson - Aman

Pettersson needs to play with top players, similar to how Draisaitl + McDavid together generates such dangerous offense, we need the lotto line back.

And let's be real, at this point, Joshua/Lindholm/Garland is our 2nd line with how they've been playing.

I hear what youre saying.  Problem is Miller’s line is playing very demanding mins and is Petey good for that challenge?

And I do believe even Miller/Boeser could use some speed/someone to help dig for the puck on their line.  Miller is great when doesnt have to be going 100% all the time.

Wild idea, but hear me out:

    Bleugs Miller Boeser

    Josh Lindy Garland

    Hoagie Petey Podz

    Aman Suter Lafferty

    or

    Bleugs Miller Boeser

    Josh Lindy Garland

    Suter Petey Hoagie

    Podz Aman Lafferty

That 4th line could get shredded but if Aman can play solid 4th line C mins I wonder…

Bleugs/Miller can switch off on C depending on the flow of play etc.  Maybe capture something he had w Garland/Joshua for this series at least.

Mika has been a massive disappointment since Christmas... first he was just snakebitten, but now it looks like he has totally lost confidence... And unless the get EP going somehow, I fear it won't end well...

what has disappointed me is his back check.  Seems like when a play goes the other way, rather than stop put your head down and try to force a turnover he just stops skating…..often.  maybe he really is gassed but if that’s the case-not good.
