  1. Who was the last dominant Canadian Player the Canucks have drafted? Horvat? Bourdon if he didn't lose his life far too early? Why do we suck so bad drafting Canadian players? (It could be argued our drafting at best is spotty regardless who we draft) Tanev was undrafted.

Not dominant... but Jared McCann is arguably the best CDN player drafted since Bo. McCann and Bo had the same number of points in the same number of games last year.

Yeah, it just took longer for McCann to develop. At least we weren’t the only team to give up on him.

Dominant is hard to say. Horvat was dominant for the 50 or so games we had last year, scoring at about a 50-goal pace. Outside of that, he was a strong top 6 forward, but probably not dominant. If you mean a bonafide top line player, there are probably none. Linden is the only other prominent one that comes to mind. Bieksa was good, but not dominant and more of a #3 for most of his career, not a 1/2.

If we're counting guys who were dominant outside of Vancouver, the obvious answer is Cam Neely. Rick Vaive also scored 50, but that was in the 80s when that was a lot easier.
