And a special shout out to those shut-ins and nauseous (brilac) and the blind, and people who have to work and can't watch the game, but can still listen to the radio (you know who you are).

And if you listen very carefully, you can still hear what a legend sounded like doing the play-by-play.

I swear we would start out staring at the radio (did a lot of that in the 50s) then when you closed your eyes, you could "see" the rink and follow the play.

Jim Robson was the classiest, most sportsmanlike and considerate guy; and he always oriented you to the rink and which way the Canucks were facing each period.

He was so fair and unbiased it was incredible, and something to aspire to.

He wasn't much to look at especially in his youth, I assume acne-type scarring, but know nothing.

The joke was that 'he had a great face for radio' and he shunned TV for a long time.

And then, finally, we got to see the man at work while we listened to the game.

So, @Roger Neilsons Towel, have they dropped the puck yet on the radio?

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. I’m operating machinery so I won’t be able to check in here very often tonight.

I’m usually a day shift guy and able to watch the game, so it’s nostalgic listening on the radio for sure.

Enjoy the game! Go Canucks Go!
