Chicago has handled this soooo fucking poorly its not even funny. If this isnt a Kyle Beach type of incident, this should have been covered the fuck up. They just drew alllllll the attention on themselves for something that doesnt even warrant a pair of handcuffs and a night in the tank at the least.

Chicago has NOT handled this poorly. If whatever Perry did is not criminal, then any misconduct he engages in is subject to internal investigation and whatever sanctions the team believes is appropriate. The player, and anyone else who might be involved, has a right to protection of privacy. In other words, the general public has no inherent right to know what he did. The only difference between this and a run-of-the-mill employee disciplinary sanction is we know the penalty in this case. Most employee discipline is normally kept confidential. Whatever Perry did is known to the team, the league and the Players' Association but the fact that nobody is spilling isn't some kind of conspiracy to cover up, it's just standard operational procedure.

The fact this has spread so rampantly on the internet is a poorly handled situation.

How did this “misdemeanour” reach such heights????

that kind of shit should have been handled instantly without word getting out.

pack yet shit you’re headed to the desert bud. 50% retention for a 4th round pick. Get a deal done instantly and have him separated from the organization ASAP.

But because they chose to announce the reasons of the the healthy scratch, announced an internal investigation, right after a moms trip and chose or voted him off the bus and to walk to the game, be held out of practice and games. It has blown the fuck up to unbelievable levels of rumours and slander

So Perry's actions:

- weren't criminal

- were alcohol related

- not deemed appropriate for player's assistance program

Interesting...

And it involved a team employee...which we've heard nothing more about, so the obvious implication is that he/she was somehow/someway victimized?

With the way it's been handled speculation will continue to run rampant unfortunately

don't want to lose a lawsuit?

Start your statements with

I think

In my opinion

There are allegations

This is what I believe occurred.

I think Any of these folk that 'know what happened'  regarding these 'allegations' could easily get a lawyer to word it up so no lawsuit would be successful -imo.

I believe that could be done.

Smells like a cover up.

Like others have pointed out, alcohol related offence involving staff.  Bad enough to warrant termination but not substance abuse program.  Thinking CHI settled with the “victim” and a NDA to keep things quiet.

So how is Chicago responsible for rumours and innuendo spreading on the internet? Seriously, how could they have handled it differently? Oh, I see you've suggested shipping Perry out to "the desert" with 50% retention. That would certainly stop the rumours, don't you think? You really haven't thought it through and you don't understand how workplace disciplinary actions take place.

In a nutshell, Perry somehow contravened team rules and/or his contractual obligations and it was made known to management. Management immediately removed Perry from the team while investigating the incident. The team determined that they had enough information to terminate Perry's contract. The team, the NHL and the NHLPA were all made aware of the situation and have so far remained silent. The NHLPA will likely decide to grieve the termination because that's what unions do for their members. If their is no grievance, however, nobody will ever be sure what happened.

I dont think you understand how to handle issues. One being “small” issue but its been made a big issue, which could have been kept in house and a quick trade outta town doesnt make anyone think twice.  He is a rental, plenty of teams would want him to push for playoffs and improve chances of going deep. Hes on a year deal, ARZ is looking to be playing better hockey than a lot of teams in our conference and are tied for the last WC spot. How the hell would a trade like that make ANYONE suspicious??

Determining  they have enough “evidence” does not support the substance abuse stance that is now being taken. If he has alcohol issues or drug issues. He gets sent to rehab, not fired. Its alcohol related, no criminal offences, this is something consensual. He fucked someones mom, wife or daughter. Hence his extreme embarrassment because it just fucked his own marriage and is probably going to tear his family a part all because he got caught with his dick out.
