Tocchet did not get this team ready tonight.

 

He said this would be an interesting test.

 

What he should have done is prep them to go balls out.

 

They are not sure who they are yet and it is up to the coaching staff to teach them who they are.

 

Not impressed so far this game.  If they come back it will be because Tocchet wakes up and gets them going.

 

They have to believe they can be the best team not just show up and wait and see what happens.

 

Coaching is not just calling your team out after a poor effort - looking at you Tocchet!

 

Smarten up as a head coach and lead - don't just beat them with a stick when you don't like the effort. Teach them to grow into their potential.

I can see Canucks rushing things that either overskates or miss the puck entirely.  That is not their game.  Vegas didn't have to do much but to took advantage of their defensive breakdown.  That's all it took.  Vegas is strong on faceoff and that keeps them on the heel a lot more than it should have been.

And for all the grandstanding on this board, that's the difference between a team in the midst of their window, who knows how to win and a team at the start of their window who still have to figure that out
