The dirtbag is going to lead us to the cup.  Also, what exactly is he a dirtbag for?  Because the parasites in the media leaked out that he was interviewing Tocchet in Las Vegas and so he didn't fire Boudreau the next day?  JR doesn't work on the media's timeline.  Boudreau also shit the bed with his pond hockey and deserved to get his ass fired and shipped out of town...

I'm pretty sure Boudreau has forgiven JRPA I don't know why Heffy can't let it go. Holding grudges only hurts the person with the grudge. And in the grand scheme of things this is a pretty minor thing to grudge over.

I must be said that Zadorov is on an expiring contract. And with the Petey promotion looming, I'm not sure we have enough to re-sign him.

Are we in a position to trade picks for rentals?

the 5th was the Hawks pick nd the 3es is a 2026, which, if he even hits, likely wouldn't be until 2030-ish..........I think they're ok

We gave the pick from chicago and a 2026 3rd.  I think we will survive.

Assume the cap goes up 4.5 mil next year we have 32 mil in space.

I did an armchair GM on Cap friendly

Assuming

Petey is 11 mil x 4 (as it sounds like he wants shorter term like Matthews)

Hronek takes 7.5 mil x 8 years (give him the extra year which takes him to 34. This is the equivalent of 8.6 mil from any other team as they can only give 7 years)

We could sign Zadorov for 5 mil per or slightly more and still bring back most of our key depth players with slight raises including DeSmith and still have 2 mil in cap space

We can easily manage it

Unfortunately because of Petey's extension, I think this is the real best window for a championship for the next few years til Lekkerimaki and Willander hopefully reach or exceed their potential. We haven't seen a single team win the cup with an 11mil player, and Petey many expect to make 12mil. And with the rising OEL buyout cost. I sadly think this really is our buyer window. As for extending Zadorov. We have 9mil in cap from Myers and Cole alone. Petey will eat at least half of that. We'll see where Hronek sits.

But I don't think Zadorov will get much more than he is already making. 3.75mil feels pretty fair for what he brings. Since we can already fit his deal, re-signing him for 4mil would be pretty easy. Just depends on if he tries to chase the bank in the offseason. Not sure too many teams are lining up to give him more than 4mil though tbh.

Canucks NEW management came in with a cap strapped team and a defence of;

Quinn Hughes

OEL

Tyler Meyers

Luke Schenn

Brad Hunt

Travis Harmonic

Tucker Poolman

Kyle Burroughs

Olli Juolev

While in short time with no excuses of a cap have transformed it to

Quinn Hughes

Filip Hronek

Carson Soucy

Nikita Zadorov

Mark Friedman

Matt Irwin

Ian Cole

Tyler Meyers

Huge win when especially with lack of league trading and not selling the future or present

Good trade. Alvin is the man.

We must have one of the biggest D core in the league now, especially when Soucy is back.

Big yet still mobile for there size. Priority number 1 for today's defence is skating and mobility. There added size is a bonus for sure!
