I recently got my '76 Dart Swinger resurrected. Lots of engine work done, new tires and rims bought, paint and rust work booked for next March.

Really enjoying driving it around, its been 20 years since i've had it rolling.

Opened the glove box and a CD was in there...

Cranked it through the still great sounding Kenwood deck and JBL speakers... My neighbourhood is loving me...yeah, I'm being that guy...

318? 340? Or maybe just 225

The issue here is, seldom does the team moving the more talented player win a trade. I can't see who we would trade Petey for who's at the same stage etc that is as good and available. To me the bigger issue is he seems to be quite focused on maximizing his value financially (which all players do) but are his 90 points worth 11 million. And are his 90 points worth the same as Quinn's? Because Quinn is setting himself up for a similar number but I would argue he's bringing more to the table.

My take is, if you're going to pay someone 11 mil, they better damn well be able to drive play in the tough games.

The playoffs this year may tell us alot about Petey's $$. Because if he isn't leading they way, no way is he worth that kind of money.

I still think we could get both Jack and Luke Hughes for Petey. For this 11 biillion dollars why the fuck not?

He's better defensively than Myers, sure he'll make an occasional chaos-giraffe-esque gaffe, but game to game, he's more reliable defensively. Should also extend at ~2/3 Myers hit, and is younger and plays meaner.

I disagree with the "more reliable defensively" part, but the rest I agree with.

To be fair, I think the Beau trade shows that Garland wouldn't be impossible to trade. The real question to me is when does it make sense? Sure, we could do it now, but do we lose skill needlessly as a result?

Ya it's probably not this year but I could see it in the summer as Mgmt continues to restructure the line up

Zad makes Bear unnecessary. Juulsen and Wolanin can bring up 7-8

Save that money toward a power forward. A good power forward would be an upgrade on PDG.

One would think this season, last season, and the one before that, and every single season ever in Canucks history would've taught you that you can never have too many defencemen on your roster.

Redundancy is depth.  And depth is wins in the NHL.

Imagine how many more points he’d have if instead of creating for the bottom 6 guys if he was given the chance to create for the top 6 guys. Garland looks good out there! He’s very creative offensively and I think he could hang with the guys in the top 6 and doing so he’d produce at a rate where his salary doesn’t look too bad. We just have too much depth on the wing that he’s been resorted to playing 3rd line and it’s a lot harder to pickup points setting up Beauvillier and Blueger instead of Miller and Boeser.

He's been up on the top lines but still doesn't score.

If we're keeping any little guys they need to score.  Look at anyone over the years: Ronning StLouis Savard in fact, name a famous little guy who didn't score.

On top of that, he gets bowled over and even though he twists and turns and is good at that, he eventually loses due to being physically overwhelmed or shooting off his muffin.

Höglander is about my cut-off point and he's built like a half-ton 4x4; and he scores.

Now if Garland could fight like Rick Rypien that would be different, and something to see!

I think we could get something back for Garland with no retention and I would take darn near anything for the cap, the term, and the roster position.

I said trade Petey for Jack n luke Hughes. I think Jack has a good contract for a few more years. I think Petey is worth more but not more than both Jack and Luke, playing with Quinn.

I wouldn't take Petey for Jack straight up if I'm NJ. Lol. Dude's contract is better than Petey's. Assuming he gets his 11+mil. Petey is grossly overrated here too.

So pleased we got this guy! Demko is smiling for sure! I'll call him Zad's till a better name comes along! I loved guys like him when i was playing, you could count on them to clear your crease and keep the other team honest around you. He's a loose canon to, so here comes the boom!

He's what you want.

No chance...Jack is their petey plus more...and Luke is going to be a stud....and they know bringing the brothers together costs a premium....Why in the world would NJ do this?

I would be hesitant to break up that third line with Garland. Agree he's not producing the points for his salary, but that line has great chemistry and is causing havoc for teams...that allows tocchet to rest his top 2 lines and also tires out the opposition. That third line with garland has established themselves as a top notch third line...not sure its smart to break it up.

My bet is they hope is Podz is able to take over Garland's role next year, making him expendable...right now he is a very valuable part of our team. Our third line has been consistently excellent this year, and he's a big part of it.

The disclaimer says its made by a foreign agent... clearly a propaganda piece 😉

Lol. It’s stupid russian law about “foreign agents”. Essentially anyone who says something against putin is labeled “foreign agent”, including russians who left russia after the war started.

Can't believe you've got me to say this.

But given a choice between Ontario and Calgary. I'd take Ontario.

But I wouldn't want to live in Alberta at all. I spent about 3 weeks total visiting Calgary in the late 80's, early 90's visiting friends. I hated it there.

Probably the good side of Ontario is the Georgian Bay, Niagara-On-The-Lake areas.

I even didn't mind Montreal, its a very cosmopolitan city. Quebec City is beautiful, but if you don't speak French there they treat you like crap.

(I guess that's from all the US tourists?)

But I love it in BC. It's just getting harder and harder to afford. (Despite being born and raised here)

I take Alberta over Ontario 10 out of 10 times. I don't like socialist governments so Ontario is out...plus our PM is scum lol.
