This year is just frustrating. This is exactly how young cores pkay. That core has a ceiling to be great. It takes time (and a good supporting cast) for them to be consistent at that level. IMHAO the Sabres are very close. I would trade Power for a huge haul of veterans to fill out the supporting cast.

I know, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating... lol The Sabres may at some point have to choose between Power and Dahlin, but not quite yet. Kevyn Adams has been doing a good job with the cap allotments by signing good talent to team friendly long term contracts by signing the players early. They've got some vets sprinkled in, but it takes time for young players to make their way in the NHL sometimes. Injuries the past couple years haven't helped their ability to compete either. Habs are still closer to a rebuild than they are to competing, similar to Anaheim, these things take time.
wai_lai416
Not surprising OEL is only decent on Florida.. there’s reason why players struggles here and flourish as soon as they leave because they actually put them in positions to succeed rather than force players into playing roles or style that ain’t their game. Dickinson and Schmidt are another example. After we force out kuzmenko he’ll prolly flourish and start producing again as well. RT is trying to turn everyone into a defence first 200 ft guy doesn’t really work for all player. He’s just way too passive scared to make mistake now or he’ll end up on the bench/pressbox

Habs are still closer to a rebuild than they are to competing, similar to Anaheim, these things take time. The Habs passed on Michkov. They are going to regret it. He is going to be a superstar in the NHL. They also could have taken one of the many great Dmen in that 2022 draft. Instead they took the power forward that may or may not develop. All of those Dmen from 2022 are better than Reinbacher. They are all 19-20 years old and playing key roles with their teams already. Mintyukov, Jiricek, Nemec, Korchinski. All gonna be studs in the NHL. Not sure what the hell Philly was thinking. But at least they were smart enough to not pass on Michkov.
