One day, they're beating the top teams soundly, then the next, they go on a 2 or 3 game losing bender to awful or plain average teams. It's frustrating to watch, but necessary. Rebuilds are painful. The Sabres finally rebuilt the right way through the draft alongside a shrewd trade or two. Fans of the team are just now in the have patience stage. Ian Cole has been such a good add for us this year. While I don't like Detroit's strategy of adding every free agent they could last summer and handcuffing themselves a bit, I do think that Sabres really need to add one or two good older d-men. The Sabres could for sure use a couple of solid bottom pairing D-men, but that will likely come through the pipeline rather than by trade. The inconsistent play this year is causing too many losses and the Sabres are unlikely making the playoffs unless they can get their on ice performance buttoned up soon. The clock is ticking. People are apparently just now figuring out that Owen Power is an offensive d-man with marginal defensive skills. That's never been a secret to anyone.
