The Sabres go on a 4 game skid and lose to some lousy teams then suddenly decide they're good enough last night to beat the best team in the league.  This year is just frustrating.

This is exactly how young cores pkay. That core has a ceiling to be great. It takes time (and a good supporting cast) for them to be consistent at that level. IMHAO the Sabres are very close. I would trade Power for a huge haul of veterans to fill out the supporting cast.

I know, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating... lol

The Sabres may at some point have to choose between Power and Dahlin, but not quite yet.  Kevyn Adams has been doing a good job with the cap allotments by signing good talent to team friendly long term contracts by signing the players early.

How much longer before the Habs fire management? Such a disaster there.

Probs be waiting a while, they're a club who's experienced a lot of injuries, who are still kinda rebuilding, and who have a roster featuring some younger players

I imagine there will be more patience

Their management has a history (from their time with the Raggedy Andys) of being terrible at the draft. Lots of bustaroos. Now they are continuing that with their bustaroo picks with the Haberdoodles. Ownership would be wise to get new management. The Habs have a history of greatness. This management is making that great franchise a loserdoodle.

Molson literally just gave an interview saying he's happy with the state of the team and the important part is to continue to develop tge young players the right way.  As usual Alf is completely out of touch with reality and talking out his ass

If you look at the makeup of their roster most of their top end talent is very young, their defense in particular is very young. They've got some vets sprinkled in, but it takes time for young players to make their way in the NHL sometimes. Injuries the past couple years haven't helped their ability to compete either.

Habs are still closer to a rebuild than they are to competing, similar to Anaheim, these things take time.

Not surprising OEL is only decent on Florida.. there’s reason why players struggles here and flourish as soon as they leave because they actually put them in positions to succeed rather than force players into playing roles or style that ain’t their game. Dickinson and Schmidt are another example. After we force out kuzmenko he’ll prolly flourish and start producing again as well. RT is trying to turn everyone into a defence first 200 ft guy doesn’t really work for all player. He’s just way too passive scared to make mistake now or he’ll end up on the bench/pressbox

Coilers - Wild 3:3 after too.

Skinner 3 goals on 12 shots

Credit the WIld but Skinner's the weak link tonight, Oil are doing their best to give him run support

Looks like the Oil are starting to figure out their powerplay again

List of teams that have rebuilt "the right way":

Detroit

Buffalo

Ottawa

Arizona

Anaheim

Columbus

New Jersey

Montreal

There will be disappointment

Ehhh, Anaheim should be very good once they get going, you can see that the top tier pieces are there but they're all pretty young

Detroit actually looks pretty solid this season, finally

Ottawa should be better than they are, if they had a better answer in net they'd probably have a better record, scoring isn't their issue it's their tending and their PK combined with their being the least disciplined team in the league

Sens have lots of runway though, they've only played 21 thus games thus far and still sit at roughly .500

Jersey's missing some of the pieces they moved on from, and better tending, they're still likely a playoff team though

Not sure what the answer is in Buffalo, they may simply need to go find a more established starter though

Columbus, man I dunno, they just never seem to be able to put it together, that's not so much about them rebuilding the right way so much as it's them having rarely ever been good throughout their history

Arizona's actually looking pretty competitive, but same story as Columbus

Montreal is still pretty close to rebuilding, lots of youth on that team

There's always disappointment when teams are trying to put things together, we've watched that firsthand for years

Nice job Dubass (you double down dumbass.)

The Pens are a friggin’ old man club. EK is terrible. That guy needs to retire.
Great trade by Greer to dumperoo that selfish piece of craperolla

Well, isn't it clear why they hired him?

Gotta rev up the tank so they can get their next 1OA generational player.  Their last one is getting up in age.

The Habs passed on Michkov.  They are going to regret it.  He is going to be a superstar in the NHL.  They also could have taken one of the many great Dmen in that 2022 draft.  Instead they took the power forward that may or may not develop.  All of those Dmen from 2022 are better than Reinbacher.  They are all 19-20 years old and playing key roles with their teams already.  Mintyukov, Jiricek, Nemec, Korchinski.  All gonna be studs in the NHL.  Not sure what the hell Philly was thinking.  But at least they were smart enough to not pass on Michkov.
