And I have noticed a fair few posters crawling out from under their rocks to start posting, slagging of the team, the coaching staff or senior management. Posters that never posts after a win.

Yeah

If anything, the recent injuries and the resulting losses showed that we are a pretty fragile team. We lost a 4D and a 3C. I think really good teams still find a way to win when missing those pieces.

Imagine Hughes got hurt. We'd be a basement team.

I think the biggest thing right now is just the fact that we were forced to overplay Hughes and Hronek because they didn’t trust the other D.

Those two were a massive part of our success early but now they’re a bit rundown. We need to spread the minutes for the next stretch of games and let those guys power up.

Agreed

Playing those types of minutes looks like it's taken a toll on them.

Im glad they traded for Z. Hopefully we can spread out the minutes again.

Coles and Myers aren't good enough to make up for Juulsen and Friedman.

Coles and Myers are both around 5D level while Friedman and Juulsen are 7D-8D  level.

We're essentially playing without 3D,4D and 6D.

As a committee of 5Ds (Cole Soucy and Myers) we were a good enough D as a committee to make up for not having a 3D or 4D calibre player but as soon as injuries hit, we got exposed.

Vegas has proven to over come their defensive game after losing Theodore and Marinez a large part of their defense. Yes it took them some adjustment and they did lose because of it but where is the Canucks Adjustments. It is only getting worse

ok i'll bite...

You do know, that vegas won the cup, with almost the same team, and was close the seasons before that...

It takes time to get to the level of vegas... power, size and strength... throughout the team...

However, its a process. you don't just come from bottom feeder to champ without hick ups... you do realise that?

There are almost 60 more games to play, and that should help the team to improve in structure and tactics, of how to beat a power house like vegas.

Plenty of games to ensure a play offs berth, while getting better all the time.

Have you noticed by any chance, how the team has been changed in the short period of time Allvin has been GM?

Is it possible, that more changes are coming, if the play doesn't improve? Give it time ffs... Benning had 8 years, and we were never in this position during his tenure, so relax, have a beer and enjoy the ride... Its much better for you health, unless you really just are a troll trying to stir up shit, which is definitely seems like.

Enjoy your day 🍺

I mean its one thing to make constructive points (negative or positive) but to only appear when the team lost a game or losing games is pretty telling.

meh, if people were 'negative' when the team was winning- others would just say 'those folks can't even enjoy a win'.

basically people are going to disagree about stuff, and  some try to make it seem like those 'other opinions' only show up at this/that/ or the other time.

Regardless of last night's fiasco, these are pretty dandy stats. Ones that you'd think would be playoff worthy.

a bit more than 1 extra goal against, per game

about 1.25 goals for, fewer per game.

more than a 2 goal swing- thus more losses.

Missing Soucy and over playing Hughes and Hronek.- as a pair, rather than breaking them up to bolster the lower pair D men.

Well you know its true Gurn, that some folks only show up, when they are losing...

Agree or disagree is perfectly good... its a board for discussions.

But if ones sole purpose in life is to slag everything of with the team, without being constructive what so ever, then there is a case of trolling...

The coach suck, the coach can't teach defence, bla bla bla...

During the game, of course we get frustrated, when they play poorly or suck, but it's hardly the reason to burn it to the ground in the PGT?

so you say, yet other do not.

For many here it is 100% Canuck at all times, or else 'you are a troll'.

There will always be different opinions, and there will always be different opinions, about when those opinions should be aired.

Life would be so much easier if everyone just agreed with me; however it would also be boring.

Yep, They definitely have been missing Soucy... Interesting to see if Zadorov can help us out... and especially how the D will be when Soucy gets back.

They still during their poor run of form, has found a way to go 6-6-0, so that is a plus.

And they are still scoring at an average pace of over 3 goals/game..

Sosort the D out, continue to improve on the structured play, and maybe just maybe, we can do some damage...

Fancy numbers and a pretty picture.

Old school;

Shot on goal - Van 22, Vegas 44, this indicates an ass whopping. Twice as long in Vancouver's end

Goals - Vegas 4, Van -1, Vegas one goal every ten shots - Van one goal in 22. this indicates shot quality and goaltender effectiveness.

Hits  Van - 18 Vegas 23 - The "want it" factor, which team was the faster of the two

+/-, player luck and/or effectiveness.

AND the score 4-1. One team won! Captain Obvious! How long one team kept the lead

Not an ass kicking but certainly ownership.

Maybe the players were just shocked at the news of a trade?

Yes VGK were the better team

They also had their best game of the season Cassidy stated ending a 3 game losing streak (Canucks should have been ready at the start for that effort-RT said they knew that, but the players didn't or couldn't adapt)

Their better players were better than ours tonight

While the Golden Knights did score all three of their even-strength goal from within 20 feet of the net, most of the shots  Demko faced came from between the blue line and the faceoff dots, with an average distance of 49.68 feet.

As for the Canucks, they finished with an average distance of 38.46 feet versus Adin Hill and 22.50 feet versus Logan Thompson. A positive way of looking at this is while Vancouver couldn't generate a ton of shots, at least they were getting to the dirty areas and trying to make life difficult for Vegas' goaltenders.

Shot totals can be deceiving as i would rather have 30 long range shots against than 20 high danger shots

Offensive zone pressure tells more

You say 44 to 22  shots as being 2x as longer in our zone (shots are not a true reflection of that) I would bet that they were better in blocking as well

Anyone know the true offensive zone possession stats for this game ?

PK still isn't great but I guess losing Suter and Soucy has to do with that. Hope they can improve that to over 80%.

Negative people hide behind losing because it gives the illusion that their negativity is justified.

Criticism is completely different. Made all the more credible when one has the ability to also point out the positives.

Last night's game is exactly what we need to learn from to raise our game to the next level. It's a positive within the negative.

Basically our core group needs to be better than their core group. Zadorov might help prevent players getting to Demko's crease with ease. We may need more though, some more players who plays big.

I think the loss to Cgy, Seattle and the sharks hurt.

Wed prob feel a lot better about things had we won those games but yeah, perspective is important. We're dealing with injuries and admittedly haven't played well yet we are 6-6. We just added a key D man and hopefully our injured guys will be back soon
