Yep.   Give him the month of December.  Or at least 4-5 games.   Hronek (albiet not 100%), didn't shine right off the hop, Soucy also took a few games to settle in as well.    Seems like he wants to be exactly where he is now.    That's a good thing for us.    Still amazed Allvin pulled this off, starting with the Beauviller trade.   Just goes to show, that cap space is king right now. 

 

Tonight's game should be a blast.   Will Zadarov go easy on his old team?  Things could be interesting.   We now have two guys, that can Ohlund guys (destroy them), and change the complexion of a game (or series hopefully) with physicality alone.    Aside from Edlers first couple seasons, and some Ballard hip checks, that's not something we've seen much of for a very long time.    

 

Allvin gets three thumbs up!

The reason I was drooling over the idea of acquiring Soucy since about this time last year ... was because of what I noticed about him during the MIN bubble series.   Personally felt he was their most impactful D.   Why?  Because he used his size every shift, and made it awfully hard on our forwards.   Plus he's solid and wouldn't cost us a lot of cap space.  We now have two guys that can obliterate players at any given moment.   Last time we had that, was when Ohlund was patrolling the blue line.      

 

We've gone from a puny, undersized defense - just Schenn and Myers really the past couple years, to one of bigger D's in the league.   That's with QHs and Hronek.   Takes a village.   And given those two guys are our crown jewels, i'm just stoked Allvin and JR fixed that.   Been way, way too long.    We now have two scary D's, plus Myers.    Can't wait for Soucy to come back.

Nail Eichel, March or Stone, and make them play with their heads up for a change...

This gives us the size we need to deal with their forwards.   Also their forward group isn't as big as it was in the bubble ... no more Tuch and Patches (two 6'4" guys).    For sure it gives us a better chance to deal with them, and Dallas.    LA too.

I don't see Friedman bumping Juulson out. Put Meyers as 2RD and Juulson at 3RD until Soucy returns. Canucks will have serious physical game which opposing teams coming to Van will dread.

Zadorov-Myers as a 2nd pair? Might be the tallest combination in the league but could be something of a chaos engine. Not sure that would be fair on Nikita for his first game

Might I suggest you navigate your way over to the GDT Sign Up, select a game or two and write up a GDT. Not sure how to do that, I got you covered:

 

Step 1 - look around your hovel until you find the mouse, no no not that one - that one is moving, the other one

Step 2 - work out right from left - check the mittens on a string if need be

Step 3 - sort out which is index finger - confused, it is the one mining for gold at the moment

Step 4 - put all three steps together and with the left button on mouse click HERE
