Thread title is misleading. Was just a chat about the trade.

Anything big is announced on team statement first, like any trade, contract extension etc. Then GM press conference follows.  

 

No wonder so many are upset or disappointed. Why speculate on a nothing burger?

And where was the Zardorov trade? It had to be fast because Calgary was preparing to play in 2 hours. Usually there are rumours first but this happens here now as the deed is done before rumours happen. Even before any tweets.

The method you're suggesting was the Benning, hide behind the scene's to avoid question period style.

 

Any time they have time to announce something important they had been having a presser.

 

But never before has a media scrum been announced at 1 am in the morning for 10 hours later AND ON A SUNDAY. Playoffs maybe but I have never heard of this timing unless there was something very significant.

 

Ended up being chat about the trade long after the trade happened, who knows, maybe the trade talk was due to some delay of something else. Certainly a mundane reason.
