The Luke Hughes goal is an example of just putting a puck on net.

Seems like our PP has been squeezing their sticks of late, should get Hronek back on PP1 need someone to fire away.

True, meanwhile how many posts or near misses did JT, BB have tonight?

Gotta finish their chances

This Devils team has as much or more offensive talent as the Canucks.

Not just Hischier or Hughes, they also have a really strong supporting cast of forwards, Toffoli, Palat, etc.

The Canucks probaby have more defensive talent...and probably better goaltending.

But the way the Canucks are playing, run and gun, loosey-goosey, and forget defensive zone coverage, is just letting the Devils use their strengths.

The game should have been played tight checking, focus on clogging up the neutral zone.

The Canucks have also reverted to their poor coverage in front of their own net... which we thought was under control.

Just not seeing the coaching or the team performance which is needed to beat a very good team.

Team is failing to make the jump needed to beat the really good teams.

He's right in line with other starting goalies in that 17-20 games played range and we are playing a bunch of home games. This team gets a lot of excuses for playing bad.

Not every goalie can be a workhorse like Luongo. Demko hasn't yet shown that he can be that goalie, which is fine, but it means his games need to be managed better. For goalies the mental fatigue is as hard as the physical fatigue and he hasn't looked like he's been tracking the puck as well the last few games. He's still made some fantastic saves this game, but I still think he would benefit from some rest.

Devils lead the league in goals against. Once again we can barely score.

Its like we dont have any top 6 forwards.

It literally looks like we have 12 3rd liners playing forward.

Devils lead the league in goals against, Toronto leads the league in goals against at home.

Yet we manage to defy all odds...

Sadly beginning to think that too.

In the start they were playing with alot more jam, and converting more. Breaks going against us & we haven't met the challenge.

Hindsight being what it is, having the 3 top scorers in the league and like half the team is the top 15 in scoring should have clued us in to the fact this wasn't sustainable. We were lucky enough to play the Oilers and Sharks multiple times earlier in the year, which inflated our numbers. In fact, the only truly quality team we've beaten has been Dallas. Every other team we've beaten has been a middling team or an awful team. Every times we've gone up against a good team we've fallen on our face.

Devils have bad goaltending, we gotta take advantage of that but we're not burying our chances whereas the Devils are

It would be nice if we could put two solid shifts in a row right now. Let’s face it. This team has glaring holes and we don’t have the resources to fix them. You need young guys to step in and again our drafting is still a huge issue.
