But the team was better with a strong forecheck, and puck pursuit. They got more chances stripping the puck off the opposition. Some people don't understand that some plays are worse than others, no matter what their plus minus says at the end of the game. That was a tragically poor giveaway that broke the game wide open for the Devils. Some plays are forgivable, that play is not when it happens over and over again. If you're a coach that's the turning point right there. You can't expect to win when you're making adolescent mistakes.
