Awesome.  A 6th rounder from SJ, is like a 4th rounder from the cup champs ... right?!

A Selke winner was a 5th round selection by the Canucks.👍

(ok, there were like only around 20 teams then, so a 6th round in 1979 is probably like a 3rd rounder today but why mention something that goes against my narrative?🥸)

How does Allvin keep getting picks for guys who have no value?

Not sure we've had trading like this since the early days of Pat Quinn.

I just think that PA has ice in his veins, and he says "Here's the deal, call me if you're in, I'm not gonna wait forever"

Even though it's "only" a 6th round pick, unlike with previous regimes I have full confidence in this new management team to pull a rabbit out of the hat with later round picks (hello Kirill Kudryavtsev)

When little trades like this happen, I wonder what bigger trades have probably been bandied about between the two parties at the same time.

Or with others down the road, like TDL.

If the pace of winning continues there’s no reason not to make a push by acquisition at the TDL or just before it.

I like that management is thinking, potentially, a step or two ahead and potentially positioning themselves for some real talent acquisition.

Cicek was summoned from AHL San Jose on Sunday.

SCOUTING REPORT

The undrafted defenseman has NHL size, and he has developed his offensive game since turning pro. That said, the main part of his game should continue to be an ability to stay at home and defend his position; he is more concerned with keeping the puck out of his team's net than putting up points. Also, he is working to become harder to play against, to improve his skating and to be more efficient at making a good first pass out of his own zone.

Long Range Potential: Useful defenseman with a little upside.
