Majority of my clothes, outside of Canucks jerseys, are black. Be it jeans or shirts.

Yeah, I think that's a good idea, giving him something to work with, it's like an extra training camp in middle of season, some adjustments and ready to go for New Year's.   You do not want to injure him with no practice in 3 days then practice yesterday. DeSmith is perfect guy to scoop in given the factor.  Had they had practice in last 3 days, I would bet you that Demko would be in tonight.
