Guetz is a pipe dream and if I was banging the bong that hard I would dream ... Miller - Crosby - Boeser and Mik - Petey - Buk (from St Louis). All kidding aside, with that 1A and 1B forward line and the rest of the team, I would bet Aqualini's left nut we win the Cup this year - Chaos Giraffe random brain farts included. Yeah who knows how it shakes down if it happens a different way. With our current positioning it’s silly to play the hindsight game too much. Juolevi didn’t get us anywhere near 5OA value… but we did get Juulsen for him. Why is it JB solely blamed for picks that fail, but anyone who is a star goes to the credit of the scout. Maybe because it is stated that Benning overrided his scouts. You don’t hear Allvin take over the picking…

Buff and CBJ look like wins but they are going to lose one for sure because well that what the Canucks do against bad teams. Pho is going to be a dog fight when they get home. Tor is going to roll right over them offensively I expect high scoring game 6-4 Canucks. Then it is Chi, STL and CBJ all three teams the Canucks should win but they will lose 1. In defense of Gretzky, he was a bit hamstrung and trotted out as more of an icon for the franchise than a power behind the throne. Is he a great player - YES! Is he a good coach - debatable with what he was given to work with (jury is out and I ... more later if need be) ... does he know hockey - Fuck Ya ... could he help the Canucks as a coach or in any sort of position - Fuck yes! Until he proved he couldn't. Edited January 3 by Rocket-

Which is exactly why it’s important, during a rebuild, to add second and third round picks. Benning traded those much needed picks away. Those are the picks needed to have important players come from to cover for the high picks missed. Benning was a failure.
