Top in our division, close to the top in the league, but the coach sucks and lets get a new one???

As for what other coaches would have, lets not screw this up, by starting a search for a maybe better coach.

I honestly think our best start to a season in a decade has gone to the head of folks...

CMIIW, I believe it’s Vancouver’s best start in its entire history. The coaching staff is instrumental in the winning record.

When asked his agent says everything is ok, and that he's going to stay.   So not so sure.

I do think that this has become a distraction of sorts, listened to the game last night, Brendan Batch was certainly spending a considerable amount of time,  focusing on Kuzmenko between the second and third period...the media isn't going to let this go.   Personally I trust Tochett knows what he's doing, and Kuzemenko has become a lightning rod when we don't score, and especially when it comes with EP.   They went on and on about EP not having the skill he needs to succeed, and on and on, even said  this is going to make him want to leave the team if Allvin and Tochett couldn't make it work with Kuzmenko (or bringing in a long term wingman).

Talked about pairs and how Miller has Boeser (who before this season was also one of their whipping boys, ironic there), and how EP needs a skilled guy.    And how Lafferty is just another Ilya Mikheyev type, as in a north south player blah blah blah ...

5.5 is enough cap space to provide EP with something decent.     Pretty sure if we went back and looked at that signing, we wouldn't find many (any?) posters complaining.   Last season,  Kuzmenko for sure looked like he could become EPs wingman.    Losing hope that's going to happen.

I don't know if you have ever been in the radio of media side of productions.

Clients buy time and advertise. The game media is the biggest marketing section this team has. These guys are paid by the team.

Guests get paid. Except team officials or players.

Last year the big talk was Kuzmenko and Pettersson and just wait until they got a healthy Mikheyev to play with them. Both had outstanding years. Sure Kuzmenko had some rough patches but the media was all about how he had never played on the small ice and how he would need time to adapt to the North American game. About how Kuzmenko was the better choice than Boeser who had asked for a trade.

Tocchet had them playing together too and Kuz got 31 points in 33 games.

This year starts off with changes, suddenly Kuzmenko can't play good enough. But now Boeser isn't EVER commented on by the "marketing media" remember those guys are paid by the Canucks or Rogers.

Everything you hear during a Canuck game is owned by the Canucks and the NHL or it's main advertiser Rogers.

Step back and watch the games, see for yourself. Where are all these Kuzmenko mistakes and are they that bad or unique. Now I keep saying Boeser because his game is so obvious. Float between the face off dots, coast around the slot, get close to the boards a couple of times a game and make body contact a few times when he can't get out of the way. His assist totals tell just how much he creates. In fact it seems everything is geared to improve his stats so he can be traded and not cost as much to do so.

Even the broadcast, Shorty describes plays in the most favourable way. Hughes passes to the other team and it Suter missed the pass, Hughes gets pushed off the puck and it is "Hughes battles ??", Hughes gets caught out of position and it's "Suter lost his check" even though Hughes i standing there 12 feet away, standing.

And now we have Captain Obvious telling the marketing media what is ....well obvious.

Hey have you not figured out yet Tocchet's little message to the media. If he gets a question he doesn't like he scratches his eye or nose with his middle finger. Watch for it, he dictates the Vancouver media.

Gotta figure out the Kuzmenko and top-6 stuff, ideally before the end of the road-trip.

Agreed this line blender can't just continue forever. Top six should be set by now. Laff had two bad giveaways in one shift. He's not the answer for Petey.

Hopefully we find a solution to the Kuz issue, so Petey can get a winger he deserve one way or another.

1 Elias Pettersson 24 C 80 39 63 102

4 Andrei Kuzmenko 26 F 81 39 35

74

Last year it was all about "wait until Mikheyev is healthy" and able to be the F1 with his speed.

Kuzmenko - 39 goals and 35 assists kinda means he helped out for 35 goals.

Seems one of the players needed for Pettersson is already there but Tocchet has a personal issue with him.

Hey, just FYI, Kuzmenko played with EP the last win when EP scored a few points.

Canucks couldn't hit the side of a barn with those poor shots. C'mon Boeser, Mr. Rocket Richard, hit the fricken net! Then STL takes it down the ice and voila! Thomas picks the corner and STL goes on to win. Amazing what happens when you hit the net.

So pathetic. Oilers should pass the Canucks by mid-March.

Agreed, however this kuzmenko situation is festering and needs to be resolved.  You can't just sit a $5m, 39 goal scorer in the pressbox

"festering"? how do you know that they aren't working to make Kuzy a more responsible player?

This road trip is going to be a great opportunity for us to face some adversity. 7 games on the road, a little struggle scoring on a weaker team in a winnable game. The bottom 6 has consistently been generating chances/zone time. Our top 6 is going to have to find a way to start scoring against the tougher match ups. They say every or almost every cup winner faces adversity at some point in the season and once they find that way to win when the going gets tough, its how they dig deep the deeper it goes in playoffs and get the W. Our top 6 hasnt really been the driving force for quite some time. The bottom 6 has been a factor in almost every single game. Its time for the guys who are getting paid the big bucks to crank the heat again and get back to dominating.

OK but its also his responsibility too. You are making it sound like its a team level issue, which so far it isn't.

It's a coach's issue, imo.  I honestly don't see the big issue in Kuz's game.........he might not be a shut down defensive fwd, but he's not bad either.  He works hard, forechecks when he has to, but that's not his game either

RT is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and that never works........sitting him in the press box for being who he is is a terrible, terrible plan.

Either play him and just accept who he is or move him.

For those complaining,  Kuzmenko and Boudreau wouldn't help this mess. Probably make it worse.

Canucks need to find a way to be consistent with their staples. They're always going back to that free-wheeling way, which creates giveaways with bad passing and trying to be too fancy. Playing passy-pass like the Sedins used to. FFS, just shoot the puck and hit the net. How many more millions do they need to accomplish this?

It's almost like he is a specialist type of player.

If i didnt' smoke so much pot, I could remember the great poster that was mentioning that a couple weeks ago.

I think they are.  I just don't think it's going to happen given his age.  Hope I'm wrong though because I like the guy.

They should be able to tell by now though shouldn't they? This goes back to last year.

If not then play him and let him play the way he wants and get him scoring to up his trade value.

Kuz will be back vs the devils and he and pettey will score and get the win.

Least i hope so as i've never seen a canucks win when attending a game 😞

Enjoy the game, I have a good feeling about this one and I'm mostly accurate...
