Well, that’s because Stetcher revolves around something you clearly doesn’t understand.

Even if we only talk about OEL he still wasn’t a fit for the team.

How many players did Allvin pick up for the OEL money?

Lmao buddy you dont understand anything about hockey. Stetcher fuckin blows. You think JB sucks, you are sitting here thinking Stetcher is the missing fucking piece lmao… STETCHER?! LOL

Yea hes really holding us back this year. Lmao

How many is he going to lose once that buyout kicks in? the 4th line 5.5mil Kuzmenko, the “penalty killing non PKer” Mikheyev. Lmao over 10mil between Mikheyev and Kuzmenko, both severely under performing, neither being used for what they were brought in for and an additional 4mil in dead cap coming. Talk about bad cap management. Shoulda moved Kuzmenko last season and acquired a high end prospect/picks and traded Myers at 50% retention. Way better cap management. One season of dead cap and 8.5mil in cap space. Now we will be fighting a buyout for several years.

If you would stop being aggressive and relax, think for a while while relaxed, you might tealise what I’m talking about.

If you were more open to taking a look at things from a different perspective, perhaps YOU might understand what I’m talking about. You are closed off to anything with Benning and OEL in the sentence.

Tell me this, what did Jim Benning fail to do? What was he brought in for?

Ehh, Benning made a huge mistake rooting for OEL. What more to say?

If he was brought in for tanking his job was done when Hughes landed. Then get rid and get a real GM cause Benning sucked being a GM.

He didn’t take care of the Sedins last tears. So the only thing left is bring the Canucks as low as he can without fans loosing interest. The looser way…

Dude are you under the influence???

he literally did the best he could to give them a shot at a cup without sacrificing the future.

went from 23rd to 8th in one off season. Brought in a highly respected goalie in Ryan Miller, provided a 30 goal scorer in Vrbata, brought in Vanek, he continuously tried giving them a cup through free agency and didnt trade away picks and prospects to acquire guys. He used free agency to build a team around them, Loui Eriksson was a 30 goal scorer who was signed to play with them and was hardly utilized in that role and suffered 2 big injuries in his first 2 seasons.

go study his moves.

If you have ANY sense at all… which no offence I’m really doubting you do.

you’d see that he was rebuilding the entire time right up to 2020.

if you know anything about rebuilds, there are growing pains. 2023 the growing pains are over. He was brought in to rebuild and that was it. He was never here to build a winner right away, he was here to build the core and they transitioned management into a closer. Just like Burke and Nonis, they formed the core, Gillis was brought in to close it out.

you compare what Benning did to what Burke and Nonis did, its nearly identical the first 5 years. Quit hating on a guy who was never brought in to win and ultimately his “terrible” management has had ZERO FUCKING IMPACT ON OUR SUCCESS THIS SEASON. 2 fucking seasons after being let go and his “damage” is nowhere to be felt. Its this managements choice to buy out OEL, invest 10 mil in 2 guys who are under performing, healthy scratch, banged up that are bad investments and Kuzmenko should have been moved out and capitalized on his value. Now the guy isnt worth a fuckin penny.

Oh, stop right there, I get a headache.

Loui?

Benning and Green didn’t know what to do with him.

They screwed the francise over and over.

Loui tried to say that he wasn’t utilised the best way by Green but was torched doing it.

The problem here is that Benning was more of a narcissist and that isn’t good for anyone in an organisation.

Well, that isn’t information about if Luongo could have retired as Canuck.

Where does it say that Benning spoke to the league about that?

“We talked to the league. The rules are in there for a reason. There isn’t much we can do. It’s frustrating. We knew it could happen and we planned accordingly.”

Eriksson played 31% of his TOI with the twins his first season. Boeser was slotted in over him, because LE was far better defensively. If you study his linemates, his zone distribution and if you look at our PK he was a 6mil player that Green chose to use defensively to try and win low scoring games 2-1 or 3-2. We couldnt score to save our lives.

Well, if you knew your statistics you should have known how Loui was utilised before the Canucks.

The reason Loui was great defensively is because of hockey IQ wich Green wasted away.

Just look at Oilers. You really want the Canucks to waste all the star players years on shit as Benning did?
Benning could have done what JR/PA did but he wasn’t able.

How he dealt with Marky, Toffoli,Stecher, Edler, Tanev, OEL, Loui, Beagel etc

We have the core we have despite Benning, not because of him. The only thing actually deserves full credit for is the Miller trade. It's just a shame he wasted Boeser, Petey and Hughes' entry level years by surrounding them with garbage.

You are comparing a guy who was busy REBUILDING to a guy who inherited a FULLY rebuilt core with ELITE talent. PA had a completely different agenda when he came in and JR and PA respected JBs work and they also said that if we didnt make playoffs it would be a complete failure. Their fist year of work brought us a shittier season than the untouched roster from the season they stepped in. Explain that?

Tanev, Toffoli, Markstrom and Stetcher is a group of players that would waste our star players prime years. Tanev is injury prone and hasnt really ever been 100% healthy in playoffs. Toffoli is one dimensional and a defensive liability. Stetcher is a fringe NHLer and Markstrom is inconsistent and hardly proved himself outside of a couple good seasons. the oilers were fucked by Nurse’s contract. We dont have a Darnell Nurse. We also dont have a 12.5mil player on our roster. Those guys fucked their team just as much as the GM. I’ll give McDavids contract a bit of slack because he was paid appropriately when you compare his contract to other elite players early in their career. COVID is what really fucked them harder than it fucked us. He signed league max and the cap never really went up. So it never had a chance to catch up to inflation and now Draisaitls next deal is looming and it will be at league max and the year after will be McDavid at league max.
Then you have Toronto. Tavares over paid, Marner over paid. Bad signings that have crippled their ability to build depth.
at least JB never signed a guy over 8 mil and weakened our cap structure. It allowed PA room to build depth.

Lol how many guys won cups in their entry deals? We had to rebuild an entire team. Slowly injecting youth year after year. Yes some guys ELCs are going to get burned up, but you need star talent already in place in their prime to not waste an ELC. This is where we will fully utilize guys like Lekkermaki’s ELC in the prime years of our core and continue to extend the window.

how do you plan to draft guys spread out 5 across 5 years, and then surround them with a couple more legit first and second line players, add depth, build a blueline and do it all in…. 3 years? Come on man. Rome wasnt built in a day.

AnthonyG just likes to cherry pick stats. The guy brags about Benning turning the Canucks from 23rd to 8th place but completely ignores the rest of his tenure which was quite possibly the worst Canuck era in history.
