If we can turn Myers via a cap clearing move into a 2C we'd be better off. So how do we replace Myers top 4 production and ice time on the back end? Actually, last year he finished a - 16, whereas so far this year, a + 16. I realize this year's team has a far superior roster but I think he's doin OK. His team mates quite like him.

Not sure he really has that nastiness in him.
Popular Post PhillipBlunt
Part of the reason this team is doing so well, eloquently stated by Mr. Myers: “For any player, when you feel like you have your teammates behind you, even if a guy is going through rough times, somebody's there for him,” defenceman Tyler Myers said. “It's a good feeling to have within a team. The room is in such a good place right now. Obviously, it's a lot more fun winning than losing. We just have to make sure we keep it going. It's not going to get any easier. I think that's the biggest thing we have to realize.” 6 1 1

I wouldn't be shocked to see Myers back next year on a reasonable contact. He really wanted to play in Vancouver, lives in Kelowna and wanted to be near home. This team is legit now, he has no cup ring. I'm for it, if it's a short reasonable contract. 3.5 x 2? 3 2

The defence group is finally playing solid. We finally have depth. When is the last time we were able to give a player like Cole the night off? Players get banged up in the playoffs and it’s better to have another capable dman sitting on the side. I think I'd rather see them move picks for a pure rental 2C for the rest of the season and playoff run and keep Kuz

The fact is, the OEL buyout penalty starts hitting harder next year and they're already going to chew up extra cap on Petey and Hronek

If he keeps up the structured play and gives us a few more years to get Willander and Brzustewicz developed it would be money well spent. Popular Post Rick_theRyper
""An excellent way to show just how dominant Hughes has been this year is by looking at even-strength points. The Canucks captain currently has 34, which is nine more than Filip Hronek, who sits second on the list. He also leads all defencemen in even-strength goals with ten and sits second in both primary and secondary assists with 12 each. His ability to produce at even strength is unmatched by any defender in the league as he continues to pull off feats only a select few, including Bobby Orr, have ever achieved in NHL history."" Just reading this mid season article and ffs this Quin guy is just insane. The amount of times his name has been in the same sentence as Bobby Orr this year is just simply incredible! https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/vancouver-canucks/analysis/2023-24-vancouver-canucks-mid-season-report Edited January 10 by Rick_theRyper 5

Popular Post Ghostsof1915
I can't believe someone on social media says that Doctors are "Forcing" Connor Bedard to have surgery for his jaw. (Meaning 6-8 weeks) Why do people with no medical qualifications make stupid declarations like that. So the doctor was holding a gun to Connor's head and said we're doing surgery? No wonder society is messed up.
RakuRaku
So... after all... we are not trading Myers anymore eh?? or we are???? I don't know how we can do anything at TDL.... we really shouldn't trade Kuz as he's fit in well as a PP specialist... but we got very little cap space... Hockey has always been predicable, that if you add talent, each job gets that much easier. Also a fan of Myers in tue post season, going back to his WNP days, when Byfuglien or Trouba were out and he stepped it up. Truly happy to see him to have more success. And wouldn't count him out yet. Wouldn't surprise me, to see a two year undermarket deal.

The coaching staff has Myers playing well, and they play him a lot because they do not use the "eye test" fans use... 3g 15a 18p +16 in 41 games 19 mins a game That being said you are correct that would get assets for Myers and other teams would love to add a big RHD with good reach and some offense With the Canucks going to playoffs, when would they get assets for TM? I don't think they trade him at the deadline anymore imo
