but I just said we don't need production out of Juulson.

but we do need to add more size and skill to the 2nd line. If we can turn Myers via a cap clearing move into a 2C we'd be better off.

So how do we replace Myers top 4 production and ice time on the back end?

Yep, what a crock of shit the NHL is....

I love how they use "slumping" to make it seem more that the Islanders gave us the win than we earned it. And 3 in a row...but sure, play that part down too. On the road, against NY teams. But wait....Nylander news!! Times two!!

Modern media is an embarrassment.

I never gave up on Myers

Best nickname in the game. We have to keep him .

Actually, last year he finished a - 16, whereas so far this year, a + 16. I realize this year's team has a far superior roster but I think he's doin OK.  His team mates quite like him.

I did think about that....but I don't want that to deter him. Lay more hits...they can't call every one a penalty.

They did try hard during our bubble run...

But yes he doesn't always play to his size... Not sure he really has that nastiness in him.

At this point I’d rather trade Kuzmenko + picks + B prospects for a Top 6 upgrade.

The defence group is finally playing solid. We finally have depth. When is the last time we were able to give a player like Cole the night off? Players get banged up in the playoffs and it’s better to have another capable dman sitting on the side.

I think I'd rather see them move picks for a pure rental 2C for the rest of the season and playoff run and keep Kuz

I wouldn't be shocked to see Myers back next year on a reasonable contact. He really wanted to play in Vancouver, lives in Kelowna and wanted to be near home. This team is legit now, he has no cup ring. I'm for it, if it's a short reasonable contract. 3.5 x 2?

I think he's priced himself out of a reasonable contract, or at least what the lynch mob considers a reasonable contract.

The fact is, the OEL buyout penalty starts hitting harder next year and they're already going to chew up extra cap on Petey and Hronek

If he keeps up the structured play and gives us a few more years to get Willander and Brzustewicz developed it would be money well spent.

It will be solely on Myers shoulders. He can get more on the open market, but Canucks have turned themselves into a destination now. That changes a lot.

So... after all... we are not trading Myers anymore eh?? or we are???? I don't know how we can do anything at TDL.... we really shouldn't trade Kuz as he's fit in well as a PP specialist... but we got very little cap space...

Wow, that’s nuts. I went further down the page to the minor news stories and there is literally no mention of the Canucks anywhere on the NHL.com home page.

One of the reason I'm not a huge fan of WAR, is it's sure a lot easier, to do your job, when you don't have to play against the best of the best a lot of the time.   Hockey has always been predicable, that if you add talent,  each job gets that much easier.   Also a fan of Myers in tue post season, going back to his WNP days, when Byfuglien or Trouba were out and he stepped it up.   Truly happy to see him to have more success.   And wouldn't count him out yet.   Wouldn't surprise me, to see a two year undermarket deal.

Uhm Juulsen has 2 assists and is -1 in 29 games 14 mins a game, while he has played well defensively you cannot compare him to Myers as a replacement...

The coaching staff has Myers playing well, and they play him a lot because they do not use the "eye test" fans use... 3g 15a 18p +16 in 41 games 19 mins a game

That being said you are correct that would get assets for Myers and other teams would love to add a big RHD with good reach and some offense

With the Canucks going to playoffs, when would they get assets for TM?

I don't think they trade him at the deadline anymore imo

It's probably his last good money contract before retirement, I doubt he takes a hit of any significance
