Saw some promising signs on the other two lines, mik trying to set up kuz and suter and hogz doing well. Good effort road effort, at least 4 wins banked. I expect buffalo to surprise us but us to get to 5 from 7 at columbus. I’ve actually thought the Sutr, Kuz, and Mik line have been quietly effective. All 3 aren’t making huge mistakes and they aren’t getting scored on. They are basically a neutral line. And i’m ok with that. If they get a bit more time with eachother I can see some points coming in the near future. I definitely want to give Kuz a shout out too. He’s been improving defensively and is making smarter plays out there. His defensive habits are starting to become “natural” not forced, and he’s not over thinking each play…we will start to see more offence from him now as he settles in. Small steps with him, building him up bit by bit to be a more complete player. His confidence is starting to come around as he trusts Tocs system more and more. It was great to see him smiling again in OT on Peteys goal. This guy loves being on our team and i’m still rooting for him. 5 1 2

NHL Tyranny
34 minutes ago, Gawdzukes said: I don't know. If you really watch hockey there are countless infractions that get let go every game. It's how it works. If you call every one the game becomes horrible. You just want to make sure the game is not becoming dangerous and no team is gaining a decided advantage by the calls made during the game. That was an incredibly well refed game. It doesn't get any better and no reasonable fan should be upset at all. No horrible missed calls, Miller got one for a blatant retaliatory penalty on Crosby, who also drew a well earned penalty towards the end of the third. Like Tocchet said, great game by them. That's exactly how you want to see it called. Fair and called the same throughout so everyone knows what is and isn't a penalty. There was obviously home town bias tonight. That penalty late in the third was a case in point. The Nucks were sloppy in the third but had to beat the reffs and the pens. Poorly officiated if you are looking for equal opportunity. Perfectly reffed if you want the home team to come back...

Not sexy names in the least, but the stats are the stats. I just think the big 4 I mentioned along with having Makar back them up will be too much to handle. How on Earth would any team defend against a Mcdavid Mackinnon Bedard line with Makar as well if Canada decided to stack the talent? I agree I dont think USA has over taken Canada. Canada up front has a collection of arguably the best play driving forwards and 2 way forwards. Demko and Halleybuck are not Broduer Roy or Hasek. And how do you stop a super line of Crosby - McKinnon - McDavid? Especially when you follow that with guys like Bedard, Point, Stone, Warner, Reinhart, Thomas, Scheiffle, Barzal, Horvat, Stamkos, Marchand, Konecky and so many more. On defense we arguably have the best shut down guys that can move the puck... Doughty, Petriangelo, Dobson, Morrissey, Pulock... Makar would probably have to Play LD because that's our one weakness I think In goal I like Ingram. I think he is Canada's goalie of the future.

The fact that he was on pace for a 100 point season while carrying two bottom six wingers shows you just how great he is. Notice he was taking, and winning draws, in the third after Crosby kept dummying JT. Elite.

Rip The Mesh
We got our two points, done, the one we gave them doesn't mean a hill of beans. We are, for the most part, finding ways to get to within the Holy grail..

Canucks Central has been calling them the life line lately. Seems pretty fitting. They have seemed to breathe life into our team when they began playing so well together, and now we've hit another gear bringing the lotto line back together.
