Like I said your hate for him screws up your perspective. Drew penalties that resulted in Canuck goal and set up Mik for what should have been an easy goal!

Bruhhh the guy has zero points, ZERO in his last 10 games played. He’s paid 5.5 mil a year to put up points not draw penalties out there. Second line has been garbage because him and Mikheyev have hands of stone lately. Mikheyev has 2 assists in the last 10 games (last one came 8 games ago).  So yeah I think we got enough defensively responsible players on the team. Those 2 need to start producing or the Canucks will have them packing by the trade deadline.

If you've been following this team for decades you're naturally expecting things to fall apart.

There's many parallels between this team and the 2011 team. That team was a juggernaut too. Ultimately that team's failing was running into a red hot goalie in the finals and an embarrassing inability to score (8 goals in 7 games). Plus the physicality of the Bruins was hard to handle.

What worries me about this team is the 2nd line is frequently MIA. There's far too much reliance on the Lotto line. Thankfully we just might have the best third line in the league.

Personally I think this team is for real and don't expect much regression next year. So I'm inclined not to make any huge moves into the deadline and roll with what we have and gain the valuable playoff experience. Then retool in the off season for another run at it. Probably going to have to make room for Lekkarimaki and Willander at some point too. Not so much worried about the physicality but I wouldn't say no to a cheap bruiser before the deadline.

Also, the number of shots we keep giving up is concerning.

supporting a team isn't supposed to be lord of the flies.

Yeah I support the team. I support the players playing like the millions they’re paid. Mikheyev and Kuzmenko are 10 million of our cap and 2/3s of our 2nd line. They have a combined 2 assists (both Mikheyevs from 8 and 10 games ago). At this point they are the 3rd line.

What?!??  Demko made some huge saves right at the end... if it wasn't for Demko in the 3rd, we conceivably could have lost.

They were huge in the sense that it protected our lead but as far as difficulty, they were low chance from the outside and minimal rebounds. The ones he did give a rebound were cleared to the corner or advanced a few steps upto the blue line lmao. Def missed some chances to clear the puck.

I recall one difficult save on the cross ice pass to I believe Nylander but everything else I fully expected Demko to make easily.

My son told me Drake bet $500K on the Leafs to win tonight...won't make a dent in his wallet. LOL

Drake did say, they were his 2 favourite teams (Van & TO) but said he had to bet on his home team.

I have heard stories that he likes to gamble a lot.

When my friends dragged me to the casino they gave me money to play roulette since I don't like Gambling.

I tripled what they gave in a few games then called it quits. I gave them back what they gave me and got a nice little bump in my bank.

Might as well just invest the money I would gamble.

You can already see the coaches have lost faith in Kuz/Mikheyev. When the lotto line got split up in the 2nd period the coaches had Petey cantering Joshua and Garland. The two guys actually playing like 2nd line players. I would not lose any sleep if Mikheyev or Kuzmenko were shipped over night. Mikheyev with 2 assists in the last 10 games and Kuzmenko with 0 points in the last 10 screams incompetence as 2nd line guys.

6 of them came after Hughes got his penalty.  So it was 13 to 6 before then.  Still over a 2 to 1 difference in shots.

I get it, the Leafs still had the extra attacker and were trailing by 2 goals. They were just throwing everything on net looking for a bounce or a deflection.

Not a lot of high-quality chances but you never know....pretty typical of a team playing from behind.

To be fair, Luongo had his best games when he was taking 30-40 shots per night. When it was 15-20 he was crappolia. Demmers seems better when he gets action and he got some tonight. Some guys like a little foreplay too.

Same argument and this team keeps on winning, what do you not get??

They are coached to play hard so our stars can win games and they are.

Every year one or two players don't perform but Mik checks and has great speed, Kuz has great hands and they are up the clock when playing which is what you need to win.

Don't like them on the team that's fine but every time someone answers you , you give the same debate, getting old.
