I have heard stories that he likes to gamble a lot.

When my friends dragged me to the casino they gave me money to play roulette since I don't like Gambling.

I tripled what they gave in a few games then called it quits. I gave them back what they gave me and got a nice little bump in my bank.

Might as well just invest the money I would gamble.

Or treat yourself to some hockey tickets.

Apparently, he has another $750K on the MMA fight going on in Toronto tonight as well.

Maybe he will make his $500K loss back....I suppose money isn't an issue if your are betting $1.25 million on a Saturday night. LOL

That's what hockey is all about.

Now to the most important question- where is Deb?

Unless I am missing something, I have not seen her in GDT and in here as well

She was at the game.

Yes but a few games we have been out shot and the team played their game. The structure we have allows us to still win which makes that stat irrelevant.

Teams win games not stats.

Yeah I'm not sure a GM or coach just looks and sees a W and says "welp, job done. We good." lol

They were huge in the sense that it protected our lead but as far as difficulty, they were low chance from the outside and minimal rebounds. The ones he did give a rebound were cleared to the corner or advanced a few steps upto the blue line lmao. Def missed some chances to clear the puck.

I recall one difficult save on the cross ice pass to I believe Nylander but everything else I fully expected Demko to make easily.

I dunno if we were watching different games, but there were several high danger chances in the 3rd.  Matthews alone had 2 or 3 really grade A opportunities from in close.

You can already see the coaches have lost faith in Kuz/Mikheyev. When the lotto line got split up in the 2nd period the coaches had Petey cantering Joshua and Garland. The two guys actually playing like 2nd line players. I would not lose any sleep if Mikheyev or Kuzmenko were shipped over night. Mikheyev with 2 assists in the last 10 games and Kuzmenko with 0 points in the last 10 screams incompetence as 2nd line guys.

Can't really argue with what you've written. Thankfully I don't think management is drunk on the success and knows this is a hole that has to be fixed. It's kinda funny but what this team could really use is Bo Horvat. 😆

To be fair, Luongo had his best games when he was taking 30-40 shots per night. When it was 15-20 he was crappolia. Demmers seems better when he gets action and he got some tonight. Some guys like a little foreplay too.

True but I think you'd agree allowing 40 shots a night is a recipe for disaster.

I get it, the Leafs still had the extra attacker and were trailing by 2 goals. They were just throwing everything on net looking for a bounce or a deflection.

Not a lot of high-quality chances but you never know....pretty typical of a team playing from behind.

I think you discredit how good Demko had to be in the 3rd....

We can try justifying his play as much as we want. For 5.5 million you better be putting up points. Then what difference is he from the great Loui Erickson who was only another 500k more than Kuzmenko but was a great defensive player just didn’t put points up???
Mikheyev has been no better, only 3 assists in 12 games.
In the last 10 games both of them have combined for a whopping 2 assists. 2 assists from 10 million dollars of players!!!!

Both of them are the weakest links on this team.

Have you ever coached??  Some games you just let go and have the players react. This game might be one.

Playoff game preview tonight. How'd you like Boeser?

Brock was just as good as Petterson and JT Miller, because they were all stuck on the same line, covering one line. When they are split, the other team needs two lines to contain petterson OR Jt and Brock.

So until you actually have something to pick apart about Boeser, fuck off. He scores alot more NHL goals than I do.

Bruhhh the guy has zero points, ZERO in his last 10 games played. He’s paid 5.5 mil a year to put up points not draw penalties out there. Second line has been garbage because him and Mikheyev have hands of stone lately. Mikheyev has 2 assists in the last 10 games (last one came 8 games ago).  So yeah I think we got enough defensively responsible players on the team. Those 2 need to start producing or the Canucks will have them packing by the trade deadline.

Was  talking about Kuzy's improvement in THIS GAME ..Bruhhh

Every games a learning opportunity but it’s way better learning while winning, not sure what your point is other than being negative.

We were talking about looking at stats vs just looking at the game as a win.  I'm certain that GMs and coaches look at statistics heavily.  Otherwise, what's the point?  Just play games and see what happens?

Yeah I support the team. I support the players playing like the millions they’re paid. Mikheyev and Kuzmenko are 10 million of our cap and 2/3s of our 2nd line. They have a combined 2 assists (both Mikheyevs from 8 and 10 games ago). At this point they are the 3rd line.

bad fan.

Huh?  I was saying exactly what you're saying, that every game is a learning opportunity.  That includes this game.  I highly doubt Tocchet and PA/JR just gloss over this one and say "NEXT!" without analyzing why they gave up nearly 50 shots on goal.  The other poster was saying stats don't matter, it's a team game, and so a win is a win.  I disagree.  Win or lose, still gotta look at what can be improved.
