SilentSam
I now see why they (RuZ) are still allowed to speak in the Free World .. (for those who wish to read): Today the members of the UN Security Council witnessed again a dark circus act from Russia, who called an emergency meeting for the umpteenth time, But Ukrainian representative to the UN Sergiy Kyslytsya, poured cold water over Russia’s basterd Lavrov, with a powerful speech. "I am not surprised that the person for whom the Russian ambassador requested this meeting has quickly extracted himself from the Chamber. [ Lavrov stormed out of the room after the third speaker, China] Nevertheless, we acknowledge the importance of the Security Council’s platform for documenting the testimonies of the modern reincarnation of Ribbentrop and his henchmen. These testimonies will undoubtedly be used in future trials against war criminals. And justice will be served even if a now unjust state of affairs is so pervasive.” he said. … “Another testimony, or rather full confession, was made last week by a certain Medvedev, former Russian President and Putin's current deputy in the Russian Security Council. He openly and honestly outlined in his Telegram channel the real goals of the Russian war against Ukraine – to kill all Ukrainians as long as they want to have their own independent country. One can hardly perceive the following statement in any other way. [I quote] "The existence of Ukraine is fatally dangerous for Ukrainians... they will understand that life [with Russia] in a large common state, which they do not want very much now, is better than death. Their deaths and the deaths of their loved ones. And the sooner Ukrainians realize this, the better." This is a manifesto of genocide, plain and simple, that can only be compared to another manifesto, written almost 100 years ago and known under the title "Mein Kampf". Much has already been said about the fact that Russia's actions and words precisely repeat those of the Nazis. One may find it awkward that Russia accuses others of neo- Nazism to justify its aggression. In fact, this is the psychological phenomenon of projection, when one's own thoughts, feelings and ideas are attributed to others. Therefore, the catchphrase "war till the last Ukrainian", which has been used so often by the Russian delegation in this Chamber as an accusation, is in fact their keen desire. As follows from the confession by a certain Medvedev, they are indeed going to wage war "until the last Ukrainian", just because the model of their world does not contain either Ukraine, nor Ukrainians. And this is the only reason for Russia to be so obsessed with both – Ukrainian resilience - and global solidarity with my country. Solidarity that results, in particular, in supplying weapons to assist Ukraine to exercise our right to self-defense in strict accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.” Sergiy Kyslytsya said. 3

Ilunga
A bit of a feel good story for the Ukrainian People. Dayana Yastremska has become only the seconds women qualifier, she wasn't automatically in the tournament she had to play in the Qualifiers to earn the right to play in the Aus open, to play in a semi - final at the Aus open, in the open era. https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20240124-ukrainian-qualifier-yastremska-reaches-australian-open-semis It's an incredible achievement in its own right let alone what is happening back home. There is the potential match up against a Russian player in the semi - final, Anna Kalinskaya if she wins her quarterfinal match later this evening. 1

CNN reported it was flying to the front FROM RuZ with 77 people on board. 3 RuZ and 75 POW being returned to UKR , but was also loaded with S300 missiles. shot down by RuZ inside RuZ I find this hard to fathom unless it was a deliberate execution by RuZ , Sadly ,. Which is Probable.

SilentSam
Maybe a tell tale in this statement, UKR is tracking movement of everything : Official statement of the Ukrainian General Staff: The Armed Forces of Ukraine take all measures to protect Ukraine and Ukrainians. The enemy's inability to achieve any results on the battlefield continues his strategy of terror, in particular in the Kharkiv direction. We see the use of missile strikes with the aim of destroying Kharkiv and killing civilians in other cities of Ukraine. In order to reduce the missile threat, the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only control the airspace, but also monitor in detail the launch points of missiles and the logistics of their delivery, especially with the use of military transport aviation. The recorded intensity of the shelling is directly related to the increase in the number of military transport aircraft that have recently been flying to the Belgorod airfield. With this in mind, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to take measures to destroy delivery vehicles and control the airspace to eliminate the terrorist threat, including on the Belgorod-Kharkiv direction.

SilentSam
The news is a little more uplifting, reports coming in are leaning more this way: Their is a information that board number of the fallen IL-76MD is RA-78830. Before that, he was spotted over Armenia on January 23, 2024 and flew towards Iran, where he disappeared. It flew through Egypt (fly over it), before that through the Red Sea and Iran. He disappeared from the radar near Syria, and then flew to Belgorod. He made his last takeoff from Belgorod. It was flying towards the central part of the Russia (north-eastern flight direction), but was shot down near the settlement of Yablunovo. So far, there are still no signs that there could be any prisoners there. Edited January 24 by SilentSam
