The Russia/Ukraine War Thread

… and Why does Germany not feel the pressure of RuZ holding and capturing UKraine , when others do now..

There’s a story there somewhere with Scholz and RuZ.

Four countries have already announced the possibility of sending their troops to Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron was the first to announce this and explained that his statement was completely deliberate and considered.

Prime Minister of Estonia Kaia Kallas supported him. "We have to do everything so that Ukraine wins and Russia loses this war," she said.

Lithuanian officials are also considering the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine for military training, Lithuanian presidential adviser Kyastutis Budris said.

The Netherlands has become the fourth country whose chief of defense staff, General Onno Eichelsheim, does not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, but notes that now is "not the time to talk about such a scenario."

P.S. For many Europeans, it's a frightening scenario - but if Ukraine loses, we'll have to fight against russia anyway.
Burying your head in the sand doesn't help.

Add a fifth prospective member to the fledgling alliance, Canada. This concept is gaining momentum and I predict that it is going to happen soon.

An international coalition of combat troops should have been in Ukraine within 30 days after the FIRST muscovy invasion in 2014.

Why was it OK for an international coalition to defend Kuwait and yet not Ukraine ?

We humanitarian nonprofits can only do so much. We need to do more to stop muscovy aggression and expel them from Ukraine.

“OTTAWA—Canada is open to sending a limited number of military personnel to train Ukrainian troops within Ukraine, so long as such an operation took place far from the front lines of the war with Russia in a clear, noncombat role, Defence Minister Bill Blair says.”

Good opinion on this Stall Ward ..

I too wonder what the Weapons manufacturers in the USA think about this YaHoo ?

Regarding this.

The amount of $$ the US military complex and machine pumps in to the economy is astronomical and a large part of why the US has allowed or looked the other way for arms sales to other nations.

If the EU ramps up military production it's a 3 fold loss.

1.  The loss of jobs to the US labour force due to the shutdown of plants and manufacturing sites.

2.  The loss of $$$ to the US in regards to weapons and arms sales as well as lost $ from R&D with strategic partners on projects like the F-35

3.  The alienation of the US military and strategic complex due to EU and even pan pacific partners moving forward without them.  The US system relies heavily on integration within the NATO alliance of US designed weapons and weapons systems.  If the EU and pan pacific partners turn towards nations like the UK, France, Korea, Japan etc it will actually harm the effectiveness of the US armed forces on the battlefield due to have stand along equipment.

The US stands to lose more than $ and jobs if they continue down this road due to the GOP

If Russia respected international law,  then yes, wearing the enemies uniform would make a difference.

In this case, there is enough evidence that Russia doesn't give a fuck about prisoner care, having shot Ukrainian soldiers, that had surrendered.

I'm really beginning to wonder what the world would look like now; if Patton had been allowed to keep the tanks rolling, to at least Moscow in WW2.

Yeah good point, that's true

Hearing this a bit more,..  not sure how it’s done without a bullet though 😉

I just learned that if a majority of congressmen sign a petition it can force a vote. It's pretty rare, there will be repercussions for republicans going against their speaker. But it is definitely the right thing to do.

War in Russia. The beggining.

Karabulak, Ingushetia, Russia. CTO declared, city echoes with explosions, gunfire. Islamist militants cornered, unleashing chaos on FSB forces.

In Ukraine, we nod, 'Reap what you sow.' Russia's war bleeds back onto its streets. War, once unleashed, knows no bounds, feeding on the decay of a society lost to its own hubris.

This is just the beginning. Russia's cities, now stages for the violence it exported, face the inferno of their own making.

'What goes around, comes around' -
And the flames of war, once fanned, engulf all in their path. Russia's reckoning is here, and it's only the start.
