Massive blaze at Russian Belbek Airfield in occupied Crimea after AFU ATACMS strike last night; large secondary explosions are observed Last night at approximately 0020 UTC (0320 local), the AFU-launched at least 16 x MGM-140 ATACMS M39A1 Block 1 APAM missiles striking the Russian #Belbek Airbase just north of #Sevastopol in occupied #Crimea. NASA FIRMS thermal imagery shows that a large fire is located on the tarmac at geolocation 44.686322, 33.572471 which was, based on satellite imagery from from as recent as May 10, 2024, was used to park Russian Su34/35 fighter/bomber aircraft. Based on video evidence, the fire has a lot of "fuel" to burn so the missiles did not strike and empty stretch of asphalt. In addition, large secondary explosions can be observed meaning munitions that were either attached to aircraft, staged near aircraft or stored locally were also hit during the strike. If aircraft were destroyed/damaged in the strike, the credit goes to ATACMS which, unlike AFU Air Force Su-24s sortieing out of an airbases in the west of Ukraine, do not provide a 40-minute warning of an impending Storm Shadow/SCALP EG attack. This means there is a very strong likelihood that multiple Russian Su's (and possible pilots scrambling to sortie them) were caught on the ground. I am reading more about Ukrainian morale hitting new lows, both civilian and military. This might be a reaction to poor international support over the past 4 months. AFU now taking prisoners into the military as over 500,000 Ukrainian men are avoiding military service. I suspect there could be some Russian agents feeding the negative news. Reportedly massive air and sea attack with OWA-UAV's and USV's on the Port of Novorossiysk which is an extremely target-rich environment with large Railroad hub, fuel depots, shipyards, and of course the bulk of the 60% of the remaining Black Sea Fleet ships at anchor. This attack has been ongoing for nearly 2 hours. Even prior to the new American aid package the AFU have been attacking Crimea on a constant basis. Now with the aid in place they seem to be adding to it. It makes me wonder if the next offensive comes from the south, Kherson?
