Looks like an old warrior, to me, that’s just sick and tired of it all. “Long in tooth and soul, longing for another win, lurching into the fray, and belly in…Warrior”. He could be a metaphor for many Ukrainian warriors on the front lines. The look in that wolf’s eyes while being petted by the Ukrainian soldier was the same as the look in the eye of my ‘Shadow’ before he died from liver failure. I’d know that look on a large canine anytime. Both were old warriors. 1

It's been nice to have NATO AWACs aircraft patrolling over Poland and the Black Sea, but they can't get close enough to help directly over the front line. This is a huge capability add 1

The question is, with these in the air and the F-16s literally days if not weeks away with long range, like really long range missiles. Is there anything they can mount tot he F-16 that will track aircraft to that 200-300 km range? And if so, does this mean that Ukraine will have the ability to put missiles on them while they're in the air?

Warhippy, if it means anything ( and I’ll try to find the link), those ASC890’s have been “synced” in with F16’s.. and will probably offer flight correction for the missiles the F16’s deploy. And if so, does this mean that Ukraine will have the ability to put missiles on them while they're in the air? The F16 won't be able to track targets that far away on their own. But they'll be 'sensor netted' to the AWACs. Anything the AWACs can see, the F16 (and anything else sensor networked, like a a Patriot battery) can see too. One of the biggest adds is that it's omni-directional. A fighter has it's radar in it's nose, it has to be pointed at the enemy (okay, usually about a 120 degree detection cone) to see it. That means a fighter without AWACs will lose track of an enemy fighter when they have to turn to go defensive to avoid missiles. If it's networked to an AWACs, the fighter can do all the manouvering it wants and still keep track of everything that's in the air. SilentSam
FINALLY A CRACK … After immense global pressure, US Secretary of State Blinken finally opened the door to allowing Ukraine to strike military targets inside Russia during a press conference on May 29, 2024 following his canned BS talking point that "Ukraine has to make its own decisions." Last time Ukraine made such a decision and shot down 4 Russian military aircraft over Russian airspace with Patriot missiles in May 2023, US & Germany threatened to withhold further military support according to BILD. England, France, and Germany have now given the green light to Ukraine to strike military targets inside Russia with supplied weapons. Our take: Change of US policy on this matter will only be publicly announced after Ukraine conducts massive strikes using US weapons on Russian military targets near the Ukrainian border. SilentSam
Putin is a Pig of War ,. He wears lipstick by trying not to announce War. the US has been careful not to be in the lead, letting other countries act first, to avoid being accused of telling Ukraine what is good for it the US wants to be recognized as a supplier of aid to Ukraine, not a director of what it does I think this is cautious and wise.
