Then the Oligarths , who were mobsters that took the resources from the Soviet Union in exchange to back Stalin. Pretty smart move if there's a chance to move China closer to Ukraine. The likelihood of China still supplying equipment to Russia behind everyone's back would be there but, in terms of global posturing, it could certainly add even more pressure on Russia if their biggest ally starts working with their enemy. At the end of the day, China's going to only really care about themselves and what's going to benefit them even if it would mean to play both sides.
