The Russia/Ukraine War Thread

Sharpshooter

Recommended Posts

Putin has authorized stealing foreign technologies in the production of weapons.

The relevant decree, which is published on the portal of Russian legal acts, allows Russian weapons designers to use foreign intellectual property in their work without actually asking the right holders of this property for permission.

Russia's latest equipment now uses more than 450 different imported components, including those from the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and European countries.

This puts RuZ operations into perspective ,

It’s the real time perspective of a single Orc sent to go to the front line marching towards his own destruction.

his helmet cam.

Although it is GRAPHIC ,

it shows no death.

He gets injured ,.   Basically left to die.

It’s harder to understand the lack of moral compass NOT to shoot his commander before he is sent out.

IMHO we need more up front discussion of the threat posed by Russia and China.

100% agree.

There is serious danger in China, more so than Russia due to China's economic reach and clout.  China incessantly pushing to be labeled a "near arctic nation" puts them on ours and the US doorstep.

People think that China dealing with Russia involves resources but I have bigger fears.  See below

Russia needs new ideas.  They've lived on brute force for decades.

China has been stealing western tech for almost 2 decades trying to reverse engineer it.

We have just seen a land transfer from Russia to China to give china access to new areas via water.  If China has tech Russia wants, and the arms to continue this conflict as well as sending  (rumoured only) "mercenaries" to help Russia and get real world combat experience and tactics; who is to say Russia only wants resources?

Nikol-Skoe puts them on a par with Steward and is of no real use to Russia.  Ostrov Pushkarova gives them an actual port (not deep water) in the arctic and again, has no more strategic value to russia outside of a simple base of ops

These would give China an actual foothold in the Arctic and a claim.  While also giving Russia an ally in the arctic.  At this point I firmly believe wih the serious issues China is having economically and the flooding at or near 3 gorges causing power outages, Xi needs a win.

An arctic outpost or claim gives him that.

Or a proper plan if ‘first strike’ occurs.

Canada seems to be less proactive and more reactive.

‘Deterrence’  is a real thing, even in our corner of the globe.

China is looking to trade Russian land for military arms, for that very reason.

Then, they’ll declare themselves an Arctic country.

China is playing chess, while Russia and the rest of the world are playing checkers.

Honestly, for me he would be a dream Presidential candidate. But it's for the US Politics thread 🙂

lots to like there, seems like an actual person with good character. In the US Senate. How did he slip through?

Good to see the continued support for Ukraine, if Harris can pull off a win.

He didn’t slip through. He’s one of a select few.

And yes, he’d be awesome.
