I think the largest “dark cloud” scenario is Putin going nuclear on his own soil to wipe out advancing UKR Forces. But that would end the War with his loss regardless. I suspect UKR intelligence will be extensive and from multiple sources. Resistance forces inside Russia, POW interrogations, drone oversight, satellite feeds, and NATO. We know/suspect NATO has forces inside Ukraine aiding logistics and likely helping with tactical planning. I highly doubt NATO would stand by without wanting as much knowledge of Russian equipment and battle efficiencies as they can get. They will want a handle on what munitions are being supplied by Russian allies and how effective they are. The fact that Germany has lifted any restrictions on the use of equipment supplied to UKR is significant. How long before the Americans follow? The AFU started an offensive to break thru to the Azov Sea and were criticized for not accomplishing that. Is what is happening in Kursk a effort to achieve the same purpose? Russia has very limited defensive positions in their home territory.
