Foreign countries pouring billions of dollars into Ukraine with no accountability where the money is going, giving away weapons and amo putting themselves in vulnerable positions. From what I understand Canada will be training Ukrainian soldiers, Russia has China backing them, its almost like we're at war with Russia ourselves. How long until it is a full blown world war? I dont care what "side" anyone is on, peace should be the only option but it seems war makes more money and creates better headlines. What do you think the whole cold war was about? Lots of brush wars were fought between Soviet and US interests. There'd be peace if Russia just withdrew. Ukraine has no interest in Russian territory. They want their country back. And they want Russia to stay the eff out. If Putin was logical he wouldn't have invaded in the first place. Russia is not understanding this is going to be just like Afghanistan when they tried taking over there. So they are going to bleed them. It's one of those things. If you let Russia take Ukraine. Who's next? Latvia? Estonia, Poland? Romania? Yes there's better uses of money and peoples lives. But that should come from the Russian people and overthrow their leader. But Putin is controlling the narrative there. As the song goes. If peace sells, who's buying? 1

You never want to have weapons past their expiry date....send all 1000 to the Ukraine and launch at least 500 at once at the bridge between Russia and Crimea. Let's see their air defense block that! If that bridge gets knocked out, permanently, it will reduce this conflict by months if not years.

They're already paid for and will need to be disposed of anyway. This is the functional equivalent of a bakery giving a stale, but still edible loaf of bread to a homeless person. 1

No logical reason, but there is a reason: It has to be authotized "spending" by congress, and the "spend" they've settled on using is the initial aquisition cost. Biden has exhausted his executive authority to authorize weapons transfers and has to wait on congress now. They should be using net book value or amortized cost to account for this stuff, it's madness to use aquisition cost, but aparently that's the law.

The main argument I've heard against the destruction of the bridge is this: if the Russians were suddenly backed up into a corner in Crimea with no way out, even if they didn't have the motivation in the 1st place, they'd probably have motivation at that point because it's their lives on the line. Not only that, but southern Crimea is effectively a fortress. Having a way for the Russians to escape could save a lot of Ukrainian lives. That being said, obviously a lot of Russians on the lines clearly know it's their end given the very low moral on that side; therefore, it may become a different scenario anyway. Nothing wrong with packaging a “free bonus” , “thank you for your business”, with this last shipment of the year. If they are considered “expired” , they should come off active inventory, and a new budget already in place to replace them. Perhaps this is where an “executive order” by a President would truly work .

BUT they have over 1000 old ATACMs he could send just like he did with the 20 using the excess defense articles law... that is right.. the only one holding back the expired (but working) ATACMs is ........ biden. thats a 100% verifiable fact 1
