Hughes-Myers just doesn’t work, they’ve tried it before.

Glad they went back to Hughes-Hronek. That pair allows us to dominate possession when they’re on the ice. Then the other pairs just have to be even and we’re good.

Based on what we're working with now, I'd rather have Cole with Myers.

Zadorov/Juulsen.

I don’t hate those like everyone else seems to. Way better than the silver of LA or gold of Vegas.

I agree they are much better than the LA and Vegas chrome helmets.

They aren't awful, but I still don't like them.

Should've stuck with the matte theme and done matte blue helmets instead.

I think Tocchet could see how much more Hronek needs Hughes than Hughes needs Hronek.

Hughes needs Hronek as much. It's why they're dominating.

Hronek is allowing him to open up. They intuitively work off each other. Hronek intuitively knows what Hughes wants to do.

Great breakdown of how they work together.

If we can't land a big fish, that's ok too. I wouldn't mind if we bring in depth guys like Higgins, Lapierre types. They won't really interrupt the chemistry we already have, but they are capable of adding some scoring depth when the time comes. We could also use another bottom pairing or depth dman to cover for injuries.

Quinn Hughes Puck Possession

So to break it down into tiers there is the first line

1st tier Quinn Hughes 54:27

there is no second tier - Nobody in the 40s

The 3rd tier

To be honest, I am happy with the way the roster is working and I feel that we do not need to trade for 2C even though Suter is not 2C.  If Kuzmenko is getting better, and is playing the way RT wants him to play and I feel that he is doing what RT asked him to do and it takes time to become a habit.    If anything, we can get Petterson and Miller split up when it is needed if Kuzmenko is reverting back in the form and Mik getting better with hiss speed and the hands is catching up to the speed.  Lotto line will always be an option if we ever need some sparks in our game down the road.  Why waste an asset at the risk of breaking up the chemistry.  I feel that all of 4 lines are having a good chemistry together even if it's low-scoring game.

You'll probably get some push back on this even though it isn't warranted.

Something about them looks less tacky than the king's and knights buckets

Going "all in" this year probably significantly decreases your chances in the next 3-4 years, which is when I think they truly become contenders

I guess it depends on what "all in" means, in terms of what they give up

Well only if they can keep a hold of Petey and QH...

If QH leaves at the end of his contract it may start to fall apart...

Hughes controls the game like a select few. Orr, Lidstrom, Harvey.

As with Petey, I assume they wouldn't let them just walk.  A trade involving either player would completely re-stock the org.

IMHAO we will be adding Jack and Luke Hughes at some point. The boys grew up in TO. Quinn plays in a rabid hockey market. Jack and Luke will want to join him.

True, but a restock doesn't give them back players of their caliber...

It will likely be lesser players, and prospects/picks... So its a huge question mark, what happens next.

I believe, we have 2 windows... this year and next, and in 3 and onwards... But it depends on us holding on to the core players.

Maybe... doubt it 🙂

I think more likely they all end up somewhere in a US tax haven if they really want to leave their teams.

Personally I'd prefer Bedard, but doubt that happens aa well...
