-AJ-
DeSmith could totally turn this around. He's been above .910 pretty consistently prior to last year. If he's back to his usual self, he could probably handle 30 games easily, giving Demko only around 50, for a nice easy load.

Hoping this really soldiers our net and DeSmith can be consistently good in that role.
kilgore
A lot of editorials claiming the Habs won the trade by a long shot. On paper they did. They got basically two 3rd round picks for DeSmith to help their rebuild. As most say they could flip Pearson at the TD for another. But this was a successful hockey trade from the Canucks perspective at least. We had to find cap space, and needed a reliable back up who can realistically keep Demmer fresh, especially if we make the playoffs. And we had a plethora of wingers, most of whom are younger and ready to slot in. As long as we don't get a rash of injuries on the left side we shouldn't miss him. So it didn't really cost us there. Would have been better to have only had to throw in a 4th instead, to make up the extra inherited cap hit for the Canadiens, but its nothing to cry about. We still 'won' the trade from strictly our perspective.
