Vegas, Colorado Tampa etc were champions, until you get there you are a footnote. Team has exceeded expectations and i'm hoping they defy it all and win it, doubting my passion is foolish, but need to see some more growth, adaption before i feel it. 3

Counting on a loss is mostly just respecting the odds when 30+ teams are all in the mix and only one makes it. I get it, but to not put this team in the conversation is waiting to prove a point more than anything. You may be correct...again, those odds are in your favour. But 3 out of the 4 panel members last game put us there. One was a vote for Edmonton. Odds have shifted and we're favourites right now...if the team stays healthy, sky's the limit. 4 1

And they haven't really exceeded expectations for some of us. Vegas, Colorado, Tampa all have....hand picked players and #1 picks who've helped them get there. We have....Quinn. Demko. Petey, Miller. And now a bigger, meaner blue line and supporting cast that can get it done. Pretty good selling points. Don't doubt them...they're proving their worth. 3 1

They've got a very tough road ahead of them, much much tougher than the teams hot on their trail. Let in the winning goal from Saad in the last minute of the game to lose in regulation. Blues win 4-3. They're lucky they haven't had to meet us during it Yeah, the TV Jocks should have to repeat a caveat every time they gush over the FN Oil, something like: The Edmonton Oilers are unbeaten in their last 15 games, but they haven't had to face The Vancouver Canucks at all in that stretch. All hockey fans are therefore cautioned that, as always, listening to HNIC gush about an Edmonton Easy-Streak can be Extremely Hazardous to your Mental Health. Please keep your games PVR-ed and fast forward through their Endless Drivel, or you'll end up like Craig Simpson, a Long-Winded, Drooling, Simpering Fawn Boy:

I remember us using that fallacy during the boudreau bump. They don’t seem to realize they also have 4 more regulation losses than us with 4 fewer games played . They can suck it 2
Goal_thecup
I also love this time before everyone gets to work, eats a couple caffeines, sits down and pretends to work while the forum loads in the background. Once work starts, the thread gets so busy I can't keep up. Then there's a lull just before 4:20 as they sneak out early to listen on the radio on the drive home. Lots of time, at this time, for, Lots of Love For Our Vancouver Canucks.

Now it's February what's going to happen then? We have already seen what we have "had to overcome". Soucy out Juulsen in. Not terrible. Only thing we haven't had a lot of yet, is key injuries (knock on wood), although pretty sure Petey was playing through something, it was admitted (Tochett) in November. Didn't we just have our toughest road trip and go 5-1-1? February. LA is falling down to Earth, Talbot isn't saving them anymore, and PLD isn't all he's cracked up to be so far either. EDM, well got burned in November for saying they'd turn it around since then been quiet about it. We've got some "four point " games in February. It's almost a certainty, and been so all season, we won't have an easy out in the first round. The only thing left to do, is see how playoffs work out. We are at the top of the league, going into the all-star break, and after this home stand, will have made up for extra road games.
Reg
My hope is that the boys are methodical playing the game, like a machine. Grind away, each line over the boards like waves. Learn to play playoff hockey now. Tough and disciplined. As someone once said, you don't have to be perfect, just be brave.
